Hotel URA

Wonderful experience with warm hospitality. We were welcomes with lovely lemon tea. Food was decent and hotel premises were clean. Though breakfast could have more options. Sincere thanks to Tracy. Recommended for a comfortable stay.

Sorry but had the worst experience, I was told that the kitchen closes at 9pm so I went out and came back around 8:30pm only to find out that the kitchen was already closed and I couldn't even go out because the hotel main door closes at around 9pm and there isn't even food delivery option,ended up sleeping empty stomach only to find out that room cost was 2.5k for what only God knows. Already marked X for future.

A mid range hotel, offering reasonable - but certainly not luxurious - facilities. Our room was large, but somewhat bare and cold. Little in the way of drawers, but plenty of cupboard and shelf space. The bathroom was equally bare and like a wet room, so flip flops would have been useful after anyone has used the shower. It had a rainhead shower which gave no hot water on the first day but a moderate flow thereafter. The room was a bit cold, but they provided an electric fire. The free wifi gave an adequate signal in our room. The food for breakfast and dinner was adequate but with limited choice, and the dinner menu had to be pre-ordered. For the Hornbill Festival it had one advantage over some of the better hotels: it is on the same side of town as the Festival. This matters because Kohima suffers from horrendous traffic jams. From the Ura hotel we were stuck in jams for 45 minutes coming back from the Festival, whereas those in hotels the other side of town faced 90 minutes in jams.

We were a group of 5 people. Visited in Dec'16 during the HORNBILL FESTIVAL. The rooms are good, neat and tidy. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Even the restaurant serves good food. We tried few Naga Dishes. There was also a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree there. But during the festival period, prices go up very high. Overall good experience.

Hotel Ura has been the best choice for me in terms of value for money. It is clean and quiet. Food served are excellent. The aura itself of the hotel is homely for any traveller, whether it be solo, couple or family. Hotel Ura is the epitome of comtemporary hospitality, added with a pinch of its own unique savviness.||A small room which needs a bit of improvement would be service delivery. But then, i always forgive them when i get what i want.

Rooms are clean and cozy with clean washrooms. Management should keep a table lamp near the bed lest we hit our leg on the furnitures while returning back to our bed after switching off the lights which is a mile away.||Food is good but bit slow in serving. ||Parking space not so good.

In the heart of Kohima, near the Red Cross office, the hotel is located on a trijunction with ample parking space and a conveniently located ATM.|Rooms are compact on the smaller side, but adequate with heaters in winter. Beds are clean. Bathrooms have running hot water, clean towels, sachets of shampoo and soap.|Restaurant has enough variety to suit all tastes. We had a dish each of pork and chicken with fermented bamboo shoot which was good, but with a high chilly quotient that even my Angami Naga friends found hot. They charge for chutney here, which is a bit odd. They are also a bit slow on the breakfast in the morning and have to be pushed.|Staff are friendly and communicate well. Definitely worth using.

Very helpful owner and excellent staff. Lovely rooms and large spotless restaurant with excellent food. Lashings of boiling hot water 24/7. Pretty much central, convenient for everywhere and everything.
