It is one of the biggest and grandest hotel in Kohima. We were booked in the mini suite and it was the best room you can find in terms of luxury in Kohima. The food was nice but we spent more time eating at the hornbill festival and the night market. The breakfast spread was also lavish and catering to all sensibilities. This place is totally worth it

Hotels in Kohima are limited. The rooms in De Oriental Grand are spacious enough and have been renovated recently, including the bathrooms, which are nice and shiny. As often in India, hot water is in short supply, though, because of rather small electric boilers. It is sufficient for a quick shower, but ladies with long hair might have a hard time getting all the shampoo out after a wash. The cold water is really cold.||The hotel is pretty centrally located on one of the main roads. And that is clearly a minus, at least when you have a room to the street. Avoid that, because there is heavy through traffic at night and the windows are not sound proof.||Breakfast buffet is good average, both Indian and "continental" and you can also get your eggs to order. ||Staff is very friendly in good Naga traditions, but I stayed during a larger business meeting, so not entirely sure who was permanent staff and who was acting in different capacity.||A bit more than a year ago I stayed at Hotel Vivor (sorry, did not review it then). In balance, I would prefer the Vivor, mostly because of the quieter rooms.

I didn't expect the grandeur of the hotel in such a small town. But the hospitality, care and services were much better than most hotels I have stayed in the past. I am particularly appreciative of the humane and unpretentious approach by the staff. My family had a pleasant stay, so, I can't complain. Keep up the good work. God bless you in all your endeavours

We were in Kohima to attend Hornbill festival and had to book almost in a month advance. Yet, at the last moment we had to change our dates. So for one night we got a grand suite and for two nights a room. Though suite rent was double the room rent, the amenities offered were almost similar. Only difference was the space as the suite had a big living area, bedroom was much bigger and a huge bathroom. Since we got room in the backside, it was without any view but peaceful. The hotel is well maintained and clean. We did not take any major meal except complimentary breakfast. The options seemed quite limited. Even the breakfast consisted very few items. But I liked the grilled vegetables and the porridge in the breakfast. The location is convenient too.

Very impressed with the room service. Though few days it was not that good, only because they has set the standard so high. Very very polite and professional people, from reception to restaurant to room service. Nice and clean rooms. All facilities are included, the radiator works well too. Special mention to Kenihyuelo Hothryng Vethivolu Their service in restaurant and serving us in the function hall was outstanding. If I come back to kohima-, will definitely stay here.
