Hotel Chawngthu

Location is good but they don't have any parking lot. People are friendly and the service is quite prompt. The restaurant looks good with good views and the food is reasonably priced and tastes good too. The reason why I have given a rating of 2* is because the rooms and the bathrooms in them are unbelievably dirty to say the least. It seems that the rooms, curtains, bathrooms have not been cleaned in years. Very very dirty to be honest. I give them 2* because the hotel is located in a remote place like Champhai. Had it been any other place, it would be zero *.

We didn't stay at Hotel Chawngthu but we stopped by for lunch and it was great. The staff were super helpful and polite. Even though we weren't staying they happily showed us around the rooms when we asked. The food was amazing and the best part was the view so peaceful and beautiful. Definitely a nice spot to check out if you're in the area

Very nice location. Reception Staff lacks courtesy. Food is nice. I asked for packed breakfast at 7. However, it was not provided. Once the power goes off you will have to stay in dark as no generator/ ups available.

This place is a must stay for foreigners and visitors. It is an easy way to access the market. The foods are great and their drinks are very unique

Seems one of the best hotels in Champhai however my friend and I were dissatisfied with the rooms. The price is not worth it hence don't expect too high - the same kind of rooms can be availed in a city like Ghy for well under 1200 - 1500 for twin beds. And as my friend was a vegetarian he ordered mushroom chilli and I ordered chicken Caesar salad....and I must say it was nowhere close to how it should taste like. We understand that it can't be authentic however the taste was not even halfway to what it should have been like hence unforgivable. I'm sorry but this is just an honest review - the folks at the reception and at the restaurant are awesome though.

Pathetic hotel to stay. It is not worth any star. The manager who took the booking was so rude. We booked for AC room but we were given non AC rooms. Infact the hotel does not have AC rooms. On enquiry with manager he said this is the only room available. Whereas their were hardly any guest. The rooms were not tidy. Following are the proof and observation. 1. Leaking washbasin in the room. 2. Sticky toilets and WC not clean and sanitized. Rather the entire hotel needs to be sanitized. 3. Room floor not cleaned. 4. No hot water available for bath. 5. Lenin not available. 6. Glass for drinking water not available. 7. Antique fan when switched on makes sound. 8. The taps in the toilet leaking. Overall the experience has been very unpleasant. Pls don't stay here if you are coming with family or for any official work. The hotel staff are not welcoming and behave as if the guest are their slaves.
