Vis Urban Suite & Spa

At first glance, this hotel seems quite appealing - from the outside it looks charming, and the rooms are modern and nicely decorated. However, the price-performance ratio is completely off.||If you're considering staying here, make sure you don't get Room 2. It's extremely noisy. You can hear everything from the cafe above - the last staff member locking up at night, and the first ones arriving in the morning, dragging chairs and setting up. It's that loud.||On the night of our stay, there was a private event happening in the cafe upstairs. Loud music, people singing - it honestly felt more like trying to sleep in a hostel. We barely got any rest at all, which is absolutely not acceptable given how much the room cost.||Breakfast is arranged nicely at first glance, but we arrived one hour before the official end of breakfast time and there was practically nothing left. No fresh items, no refills - just a couple of cold, cheap bread rolls. The staff were friendly and seemed willing to help, but they weren't able to replenish anything. We were honestly just grateful to get a coffee.||At checkout, we raised all of these issues and specifically asked for someone from management to get in touch with us, since no one was available on-site at the time. To this day, no one has reached out. That in itself says a lot: the expectations set by the hotel and the actual experience delivered are worlds apart.||Unfortunately, we cannot recommend staying here - not at this price point. The lack of soundproofing, the unprofessional handling of complaints, and the overall experience simply do not justify the cost.

An Unforgettable Stay at VIS Urban Suites! My stay at VIS Urban Suites was absolutely amazing! I was on a business trip, bringing Georgian designers and architects to Bari & Matera, and from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness that it instantly felt like home. The room design was simply beautiful--elegant, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. The location couldn't have been better--right in the heart of the city, yet peaceful enough to truly relax and enjoy the stay. And the breakfast? Absolutely delicious! So many fresh and high-quality options--the perfect way to start the day. But what made this stay truly unforgettable was the personal touch. Eleonora, in particular, went above and beyond to make everything perfect. She even took care of a special birthday morning surprise for my colleague, which was such a thoughtful and heartfelt gesture. Her warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made all the difference. I can't recommend VIS Urban Suites enough--if you're looking for a place that feels special, this is it. I'm already looking forward to coming back!

We spent Christmas at this beautiful boutique hotel. The festive spirit was wonderful, with fresh Christmas treats brought in from a nearby bakery for breakfast. We loved the genuine experience of being in a hotel with locals, and enjoying the attached cafe that is also popular with the locals. Also - best espresso macchiato I've had in a long while at any hotel, including in Italy. ||We stayed in one of the suites, which are incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean. We loved the heated bathrooms, as it was wonderful to walk back in from the cold into a toasty environment. Excellent bathroom products, too. ||Location is great - a 5 minute walk gets you to the centre, and a 10 minute walk to Bari Vecchia. 15 if you're taking it easy. It's also within 15 min walking distance to the train station, so you can easily sort out day trips by train.||Lovely staff, all of them local, adding to the Italian experience. ||Do - Ask for a room on the upper levels if you're bothered by noise from the street or in the evening, from the cafe.||Do - Make sure your booking includes the spa and book your slot first thing in the morning. You'll have the sauna, steam room and the jacuzzi all to yourself. There are also complimentary fruits and water, which is lovely.

Pretty boutique hotel in a restored building. The room was spacious and the beds nice. We found housekeeping to be a little lackadaisical, but they always fixed the issue immediately. Breakfast was excellent. The uniforms the young women at reception wore were hideous. This is fashionable Italy!

We will definitely stay again at the Vis Urban Suites & Spa as we had a fabulous relaxing stay. All staff were very friendly & helpful . Our room had a balcony and we loved relaxing outside with our morning coffee for the day. The rooms are decorated with modern furniture & have advanced lighting technology

Great hotel for people looking for a place to stay away from crowds. The staff very friendly. I looked forward to the breakfast every morning. Highly recommend the cooking class for lunch. Rooms were quiet and the bed was very comfortable.

Arrived late, staff very helpful.. helped us get a late dinner next door. Suite large and clean and very comfortable. Breakfast simple and staff helpful. Full of Italians making it authentic.|Reception staff helped us with parking, booking restaurants and general advice in Bari. Used the spa the one complementary time and enjoyed it thoroughly! Would recommend as a good base for visiting Bari, Matera and Alberobella

Amazing hotel. Stay here if you are in Bari. The hospitality and welcoming nature of each person was beyond most hotels in the US. We will stay here again.
