During a recent transit through Bari, Italy, I stayed at Hotel Costa for one night. The location is excellent, offering convenient access to various parts of the city, with plenty of nearby options for enjoying local cuisine or picking up groceries. It's a great spot if you want to explore the area or need to get around easily. The hotel itself is decent but not remarkable. The rooms are impressively spacious, much larger than I expected, and they were kept very clean with plenty of storage space. One of the highlights was the staff, who were consistently friendly, helpful, and efficient, making the check-in and overall experience pleasant. That said, the overall comfort level of the hotel left something to be desired. While it was fine for a short stay, I wouldn't recommend it for more than one or two nights. It served its purpose for a brief stopover, but it's not the kind of place where you'd want to linger for an extended stay. In summary, Hotel Costa is a solid choice for travelers looking for a clean, convenient place to stay for a night or two, but don't expect much in terms of luxury or comfort. It's functional and adequate for short-term stays.

A place to avoid! We stayed in this hotel for a total of 6 nights, a group of 3 teachers and 5 students. The reservation was made through the hotel (regret doing so), and we were asked to pay upon arrival the whole amount, and I have to mention it was a noticeable amount of money, and we were only due 18 euro city tax. The reason I rate the hotel so low was the quality of the premises and the behavior of the staff: The corridors, the stairs and the common areas have a smoke odor, obviously people there do smoke. To my great surprise, my room also had a heavy smoke odor. It was like entering a house of someone who smokes for years. I mentioned it to the reception right away and I was told that a few nights ago a guy who stayed in this room was smoking and did not leave the keys to the reception, and as a result, the cleaning lady did not have access to the room. I wonder, don't they have spare keys? As there was not another single room available, they reassured me that they would clean the room, the walls, the mattresses and the furniture. They also put a room deodorant, but did not make a difference at all, instead the citrus smell of the deodorant was making the smell even more intolerant. After this action, the room still had the same smell, so the next day I mentioned it again at the reception and I was told that I would have to wait for another night for a double room to be free. The guy (Vito) reassured me that I would not pay extra, because it was not my fault that the room had this bad smell. The next day I packed my luggage, as I was told by Vito, for the hotel to transfer it to the new room. Upon arriving at the hotel in the afternoon, the afternoon guy at the reception (Piero), who was one of the owners, in a very aggressive manner, in front of the students, told me that I would pay the difference or else I go back to the previous room. When I told him that I was assured by one of his colleagues that I would not pay, he told me that his colleague was talking nonsense, and, I repeat, in a totally aggressive way, he entered in the new room, which was next to the reception desk, opened the door, took my luggage and threw it out of the room. I told him that I would leave a very bad review for the hotel because this behavior is unacceptable, especially in front of minors, and his answer was that we will have to pay 18 euro city tax right away and threatened that we will pay for any damage to the hotel. I told him we paid almost three thousand euros, we would not leave without paying the 18 euros. The students, and not only, were very upset by his behavior. So, I returned to the smoke odor room for another 3 nights. This was by far the worst hotel experience, not only for the smoking policies that were not followed in this place, but also for the behavior of the staff. The only positive point of this hotel is the location. But, there are so many other options in the area, so I would avoid choosing this hotel for the above reasons.
Located near the station, it was easy to reach. The evening gentleman was super friendly and spoke great English and gave advice for food and tourist stuff. Check out is a bit early at 10am, but I negotiated 10.30am because that's what it said on my Agoda booking. They kindly looked after my bags while I waited for my evening flight. Room was comfortable and clean. Totally did the job for needing somewhere to stay for a night.
I arrived to Costa Hotel at night by airport shuttle bus, it is not hard to find as they have a big yellow sign. Room is huge with basic design. Hotel Costa is not far from train station and the main shopping street. However, I don;t feel very safe with walking alone at night. Overall, it is OK for a short stay.
Nice location, right next to the railway station- really convenient if you use Bari as "base" while exploring the area. Very nice staff , clean rooms. It is sharing the building with another hotel and does not serve breakfast the official stars are not so many, but the staff and organisation deserve more.
Clean, recently renovated. Close to Bari Centrale train station. Several small grocery stores and good restaurants nearby.
The location is good as it's close to the train station , however, our room was very run down (cracks in the walls, a hole in the wall where the light should have been). We stayed in 15 hotels during our stay in Italy and this is the only location I checked for bed bugs before getting in the bed. It just felt unclean. The wifi didn't reach our room so we only had wifi when we went to the desk in the lobby where the router was located. Also, the guy who works for the hotel across the street was smoking IN the lobby...so when we opened the hotel room door it smelled like cigarettes...so gross. Our first morning the cleaning staff banged on our door and woke us up to tell us checkout was at 10 AM even though we were staying two days.
We booked this place for 1 night, just a few days before arrival, looking for sth close to the train station and walking distance to the old part of Bari. It was a good match - perfect location, quiet place, easy check in and check out. We had a nice, freshly renovated room. Quite big and light. No comment about the Breakfast as we skipped it.
