The Heritage Club, Tripura Castle

One of the best hotel/resort in shillong. The best part is its location. The view from the room is spectacular. The food is good as well. The rooms are beautiful. We stayed in deluxe category. The only small issue is that the rooms are a bit far away from the restaurant and you need to call the reception for pick up and drop from reception and restaurant. Otherwise a really good place to stay. The service is also really great

The rooms in this hotel are actually huge and roomy, but the service is pathetic. Had to wait for half an hour at the restaurant for a simple order of nachos and noodles to be brought to the table. And although there were 3 to 4 caretakers at the restaurant, none even bothered to bring water, glasses and plates even after the food was brought to the table. During checkout, we had to wait for 20 mins for house keeping to send someone to help us with the luggage. And since we visited this place in December, the temperatures were about 5 degrees in the night and the heater in the room did not work. When we informed them about this, they just sent someone who came in, checked it and said it's working and left. The portable room heater that was provided was also too weak to heat the big room. Probably the most pathetic service I've seen in a 4 star hotel. Even the buggy driver who ferried us from 1 part of the hotel to another had a haughty attitude. The only positive during our stay here was the breakfast. The food was great and the caretakers who were present at the breakfast hall were actually helpful and caring to all the guests.

One of the best hotels in Shillong far from the hustle and bustle of the city. The property is vast and needs very well maintained. With a history of the royals attached to it which makes it even more interesting. Breakfast and meals of the hotel was excellent, courteous staff made the stay even more comfortable. Incase if you forgot to get turmeric or souvenirs you can get it from the in-house shop.

We stayed in the hotel during our family vacation in February. The hotel is over hyped and lacks basic sense of hospitality. We booked Deluxe room and stayed in room 104. The room has no central heating, outside temperature goes below 5 C and there was no difference in temperature inside the room. I had to get 2 room heaters to make room little better. The stone floor was extremely cold in the room, with small kid it was still very cold for us to sleep comfortably. The room was minimally furnished, with no dressing just one mirror on the wall, a 3 start hotel room are better furnished. The washroom is extremely small, the shower area is even smaller you can't even take proper shower. I wonder what I paid money for. We had dinner at Mr Choy's, the resturant was very cold no heating there as well. We ordered Veg Sushi and to our horror we were served Non-veg Sushi, that too when the resturant was almost empty so the kitchen was definitely not busy. Had this happen in any other honorable resturant they would have compensated by giving the dish complimentary or other means but the resturant was hardly apologetic. We had breakfast at the heritage block there too no heating. The breakfast spread was below average and tasted even poorer. The service was extremely bad, while eating we request a curry from the buffet speed to go along with puri, to our shock the staff asked us to get it ourselves, never experienced this lack of hospitality in any hotel in India. The hotel is not worth the money.

Our stay at The Heritage Club was very comfortable. The resort is located in the midst of forest and provides beautiful sunrise and sunset views of the valley. Rooms are spacious, tidy, and fully equipped with all necessary items. Staff is courteous and well trained. Plus- The bonfire and live music on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Need improvement- Breakfast buffet menu has limited options.

Only good thing about this place is the grounds. Everything else is disappointing. Food items like paneer and chicken were a bit stale. General attitude of the staff is not great, not really bothered to help guests. New management is badly needed.

We had wonderful time at this heritage hotel.we had selected wooden cottage and the view was super awesome. All the amenities were top notch. For food we went to their cafe lounge which has ambience made to go on Instagram. We had lunch and dinner in same restaurant and it was totally worth it. During the night they even helped us with a Room heater which gave much needed comfort with room temperature. Staff was very nice and they all make you feel welcome. We were thinking of booking other 5 star hotels but we both are glad that we went ahead with heritage club Tripura castle. They have original jerseys of football stars signed and kept in Restaurent. Overall I would give it a 5star rating in every aspect. Next time also will book same. Pics and videos can be found on my IG

I booked directly with the hotel but had to cancel due to the floods situation when I was due to travel. The hotel is so shameles that they refused to the refund the money even in the time of floods. I then agreed with the hotel to adjust the amount in the next booking. When I emailed them to book with them again this year, they refused to adjust the amount because it is their policy that I must rebook in one month - which they mentioned nothing about upon my prior agreement. Just shows how poor the level of service and the mentality of the people this hotel has. Will not be staying here even if I get my money back now!
