It was indeed an awesome experience staying in a 100 year old house in Shillong. The host are very warm and welcoming and took care of all the needs and requirements during our stay. The caretaker is very prompt and served us delicious meals. We also had chance to get the local khasi flavours. The property is pet friendly and the owner and the care taker have their own pets which makes the home and people extremely pet friendly. They offered blankets for our dog and made sure he got his meals as well. The house is well maintained and gives you the vibe of vintage classic with all the decor and the fire places in the common room and dining area adds more beauty to it. Each room has a heater provided along with the other room amenities. The rooms are spacious, comfortable. The house have a small lawn which is perfect to unleash your dogs for their activities and routines. It also has lot of trees around which makes the surroundings green and colorful The house is just 3 mins away from the main NH6 highway which makes it very accessible In all a comfortable and pleasant stay

The homestay is an 100 year old home with quiet rooms and outdoor sitting space. It has an old charm of the traditional homes. It was neat and everything was taken care by our host Vishal. He was kind enough to order food from a nearby restaurant for our little get together with my college friends. The washrooms were clean. The entire place including the dining space had enough natural light and ventilation with beautiful windows around love that part. Totally recommend The Cinnamon Stay.
This place made Shillong really special for us. Vishal and Lorina are the best hosts we have ever met. They put in so much effort not just to make us feel comfortable during our stay but also helped us plan our itinerary with so much detailing. It literally felt like home. Also would like to put in a word for their cook, who treated us to some really good local dishes. Thank you so much guys for making our trip so memorable. Hoping to come back soon and also visit the revamped theatre room and cafe, as we discussed. Great going guys. Keep the scene alive. Cheers!
I stayed at this homestay for 3 days with my wife and daughter and experienced great hospitality, It is lovely home stay maintained and decorated with love and affection.. It has plenty of places to chill and relex surrounded by nature, u will amazed to listen birds and can sit whole day in the outer passage of room.. My wife and daughter were super happy to stay there and had really great time and memories..Vishal, what a guy he is! Never seen such a humble and caring host, He will make sure that you are super comfortable and have ur all meals and snacks on time. Laurena is amazing person , fortunate to have some great meetings with these guys, They helped us lot..Its amazing place stay there and looking forward to go there again... Highly Recommend
I visited Bo Ville in june 2018 for 3 nights with 18 of my family members. It was really amazing experience there. From entire bungalow to surrounding to staff members to the owner Vivek, all were just more than we expected in less than we could have spent elsewhere. ||Service was too good, staff was amazingly polite and always ready for whatever we ask for. I guess handling a crazy family of 18 people is not simple at all .||We also had bon fire with chicken, paneer and pineapple barbeque. The owner himself arranged that for us and cooked by his own hand. He was a great host.||In overall I feel nothing better anyone can get in Shillong. ||Bo ville rocks...
We had a fantastic stay for 4 nights at Cinnamon Tree Home Stay. It is a beautiful old bungalow and Vishal and Lorrina were great hosts. I would like to really appreciate Vishal's attention to detail and willingness to help on all counts. Thank you Vishal! We had dinner on a couple of nights and really like the home cooked food. Kids had a couple of off-days and Vishal was there to help. He is also a tech wizard and though I had put my phone out of commission through an act of misadventure, Vishal was able to get my device back up. A great stay and would highly recommend!
I believe every place has a personality and if that matches yours, then you love your experience of being in that place. Bo-Ville matched ours! It's a quaint little place, away (but not far) from the bustling centre of the city known as the Police bazaar. Although, a Homestay is as good as the owner(whom we did not meet) and the neighbours (whom even the owner can't choose); We liked Bo-Ville on the basis of the below pointers:||||Location: ||It's on NH6, so finding the place wasn't very difficult. It's around 10-15 mins away from Police Bazaar, so you will find less people and not too many shops around, so if you wanna 'walk' to restaurants or pubs or shops, this might not be an apt location.||||Place:||A very cute and quaint place, with sizeable rooms. We were in Room 2 and it was very large and comfortable, with wood flooring, large bathroom and separate door leading to the outside patio. We also loved the old fireplace in the living room. One issue was that the rooms were separated by plywood walls, so noise travelled. ||||Cleanliness:||Cleanliness is relative! We found it to be clean, in comparison to how a home should be clean. The bedsheet had a stain from some coffee or tea accident someone had before us and the towels were a bit old; Other than that we have no complains.||||Bathroom:||The bathroom was clean. The geyser works very well. Decent Toiletries were provided. But the flush's cistern took a long time to fill; which meant the 2nd person using it would have to fill up the bucket :)||||Staff:||We arrived a few days before Christmas, so the full staff was not present. We were hosted by Subhas Debnath, who was the cook, electrician and handyman combined. A quiet little fellow who cooked very fine meals for us and took care of our other requests. The meals tasted homecooked, were not very pricey and were served very nicely (even with the lack of staff).||||||||So, that was our experience of the place; we would certainly like to stay there again.
We stayed at The Cinnamon Tree Homestay in the last week of December 2020. I was a bit skeptical about staying at an Airbnb/Homestay due to covid restrictions. But once we reached the property and after meeting Vishal (owner), we were really happy that we chose to stay there. Amazing hospitality by Vishal and his cooking staff. Vishal followed up a couple of times on our schedule to make sure he is well prepared for our arrival. Rooms and washrooms were very clean. The common area was decorated and very well maintained. We had a small party in the common area with a fireplace and music. On top of all this, the food was superb. Everything was fresh, the kitchen was neat and clean, loved the taste. Would definitely stay there when we would visit Shillong again.
