New Shillong Guest House

The service was extremely unpleasant. The facilities were below average. There was nothing good worth mentioning about this place. The blankets were thin and small. Even for couples they didn't provide a double blanket. The geyser was turned off without our permission. And the last one maybe a one off thing but the way it was handled made it the worst. The tank got empty and when we tried to contact the guest house owner they were not responding. After two hours when they responded they were too late to work upon it. The motor was started and for over 40 minutes no water came. We vacated without bathing and hence we don't know whether the tank got full or the motor burst. If I could give them zero star, I would do that. Don't go by photos online. The place is horrendous. Some selected pictures from our stay time are shared.

The room quality was very poor along with the behaviour of staff. Torn curtains, cracked glass window and a worn out towel were the striking features of the room. The food provided was not enough for us to sustain. I would recommend everyone to visit the guest house to see how a shitty guest house in a good location can be harmful.

I've been to village cottages with better room quality than here. Smelly, unventilated rooms with worn out quilt, rock-solid pillows, and even worse were the bathrooms. Receptionist doesn't know how to communicate properly and the owner is so greedy that he found some way to charge us more at the end of our stay. When we refused to pay more than was billed plus whatever was communicated with the receptionist, they locked the gates, even when we had a flight to catch. Edit- response to owner's reply: There's no question of boarding your hotel "next time" anyway. Maybe fix your hotel first alongwith your business strategy and ego.

Stayed there for couple of days no hot water for bathing felt frozen to get bath in cold water

Very low quality service in room, hotel staff and one thing no generator or inverter backup. Hotel situated beside drainage.

Worse hotel I've ever been too. They're scamming with wrong room pics. Don't be fooled. The rooms are horrible and unpalatable. The staff behavior is okayish. Don't waste your money here.

Dear Sir, Don't fool your customers please. And to those visiting this GuestHouse, please do not visit here. There are no pros, only cons. 1. Torn bed sheets. 2. No hygiene or clean rooms, full of insects. 3. No ventilation for the attached bathroom. 4. Looks great from outside but pathetic inside. Please stay anywhere but not here, save yourself from this place.

Not a good stay. Really shabby with almost zero view. As we only stayed the night it was bearable... Not recommended if you can afford better places
