Hotel Prakash

Well, quite a splendid place for people looking forward to a budget stay amidst the towering prices in the heart of the Shillong.

Dorms are good as per the price for solo or boys group, food is tasty

The location of the hotel is good as it is in the centre of laitumkhrah. However the cost of the rooms does not justify the quality as the standard double bed room is below average. As per the price, the quality could have been better. Room is very tiny and simple. It could have been cheaper. Otherwise food is great, very simple and homely taste. The stay was pleasant.

Manager's behaviour is very bad..but another staff member is good behaviour...

As per the standard of the room the prices are too high. Double bed cost me Rs.2446 with no drinking water not even a single half litre they have provided.

Fish Thali - Rs.367 Omlette - Rs.84 Plain Curd - Rs.52 Prakash Hotel & Restaurant, Laitumkhrah, Shillong Indian & Chinese $$$$$ 31.05.24 Today me & @iceshira are out & about looking for lunch. I had hinted at a place which apart from other items served thalis as well. We entered & placed our order but the indifferent tone from the person at the counter informing that they had ran out of thalis & that the next batch would be ready only after 30mins kind of killed it. The attitude & the fact that we had to run back to work threw both of us off. We looked at each other thinking where to head to next. I remembered Prakash Hotel had thalis so I suggested we go there. We entered this very old hotel, atleast ever since I could remember & made our way into the warm but pleasant looking wood panelled restaurant & sat. This was both our 2nd time here. I don't remember it much but wanted to see if things had improved. So we both asked for a Fish thali, Isaac added an omlette to his order, while I asked for a bowl of plain curd. The thali came & then just like how Meatloaf sang, "Its all coming back to me now". The reason why I've not come back here was because the thali was basic & I had to pay 262 bucks for it. And this looked exactly the same with the only thing gone up being the price; by 100 bucks. The thali had ok quality rice, dal, a small piece of fish curry, aloo soyabean sabji, papad & salad. Even with the Omlette, Isaac could not finish half of it. I ate a bit more. But its definitely not worth more than 130-150 bucks. Anyway without knowing the exact reason why it's priced so, & to refrain from unpleasanteries, let's just say that this thali is a little too ambitious for what it is.

The hotel is not well sanitise and hygienic the service give by the hotel management is also slow and the food is not upto taste thou the rooms are cheap this is not the type of place u want to spend as vacation

Nice Rooms and Excellent Ambience at City Centre .... And Service is Excellent by Staff and Head..... But in Hotel Food is Little bit Higher than Outside Hotel..... Overall Good Hotel and Restaurant in Shillong
