I really loved my stay at this hotel. The room was amazing with all the necessary amenities. The check-in experience was smooth and hassle-free. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable. Overall, a wonderful experience! Highly recommended.

Worst ever hotel I stayed in my life. Very rude behaviour of the incharge lady and the girl staff. Don't know how to treat a guest with a courtesy, forget dignity. On March 29th , myself and my friend stayed in this homestay. Morning when we want to go out for tea , we couldn't. The doors were locked. When the incharge lady came , she shouted us, for disturbing her . There was no calling bell nor any contact number to be called . She shouted that the doors will be unlocked only after 6am. I asked what If there is a fire otbreak or an earthquake? In fact a day before there was an earthquake in neighbouring Myanmar. There is no way to escape. It's like an detention centre. Finally she arrogantly refused to issue a receipt for our payments, which I paid including GST.It seems they don't want to account GST . The beds are over used and should have been replaced many years ago. We were provided with one towel, one soap. No electric kettle . The toilet flush was not working properly. The ventilator in the toilet has no covering, anyone can peep from outside. Absolutely not at all worth for Rs 2100 including GST. To be Frank not even worth for Rs 500. All this despite my second booking on 3th April on my way back . I had enough and hence cancelled my second booking. Never book this homestay nor recommend.
I absolutely loved the location of this hotel! It was conveniently situated in the heart of the city. The check-in experience was smooth and hassle-free. The room was stunning and had a breathtaking view. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!... specially thanks to all the staffs ..they are really humble it was great experience there ...loved them thank you for waiting for us till we came from the festival
The property management is the worst ever experienced. They denied room access on the day of check in despite booking 1month prior. Upon repeated requests too they refused entry. Moreover on asking for refund they falsely claimed we were not willing to take the rooms. Moreover on being asked where should we stay the receptionist had the audacity to say that it wasn't their problem. Owner and manager as well as the receptionist lack basic human courtesy and behaviour. Would not recommend as there are way better hotels in the same locality.
Worst experience every, the images shown on the site was the reason I booked, but it's completely misleading. The only thing I like here was behaviour of staff, they were humble and tried to arrange for another room in the same hotel, but that was also in similar condition. This is shaddy oyo room. No hygiene, smelly washroom, dirty towel. Please don't go with the images, the hotel is there on 2nd and 3rd floor of old commercial complex with no lift or parking.
I had a confirmed and fully paid booking for 3 rooms at Hotel O Shillong (formerly Balaji Guest House) for my family on 7th December 2024. As we were arriving late due to a train delay, I proactively informed the hotel in advance, and they assured me there would be no problem. However, upon reaching the hotel around 9 PM, the staff shockingly informed me that the hotel was overbooked and they had no rooms available, despite my prior confirmation and payment.||This situation left my family, including senior citizens and children, stranded on the road in chilling temperatures of 10degC. I spent an hour talking to OYO customer care, which added to our frustration. Eventually, OYO offered rooms far from the original location, which was inconvenient and unacceptable at that hour. I had no choice but to request a refund.||Such unethical practices--overbooking and dishonoring confirmed reservations--by the hotel and OYO are unacceptable. Families planning their travel should be aware of this issue to avoid facing similar harassment and inconvenience. I urge both the hotel and OYO Group to address this serious mismanagement and ensure it doesn't happen to anyone else.||Travelers, beware and consider other reliable options when booking in Shillong.
Very bad experience. The behaviour of the staffs specially the receptionist is hilarious. Don't have any manner to talk to guest.
Room was not cleaned when we reached, owner was also not cooperative, breakfast quality was poor. I don't recommend to go. They show good photo on app and in reality they are in bad condition
