Courtyard Shillong

I had a wonderful 3-night stay with my family at Courtyard Marriott Shillong. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable, making it a relaxing experience overall. The only issue we faced was with the extra bed request. Unfortunately, there wasn't one available, so I had to adjust on the couch. Thankfully, it wasn't too uncomfortable, and I managed fine. I hope such logistical issues can be avoided in the future. Despite that, it was a great stay, and I would definitely consider coming back. Highly recommended for families and anyone looking for a cozy and well-serviced stay in Shillong.

Best of Meghalaya, very nice and modern hotel. Excellent rooms and great service. Was a pleasure to stay there and enjoy the travel around shillong using this as a base. Kelly and her team are excellent. Warm and welcoming and efficient. |Restaurant is good but can do with a little improvement. |Staff is smiling gentle and ever ready.

We had a wonderful stay at Marriott Shillong! The location is perfect--right in the heart of the city and close to all the main markets. The staff were polite and thoughtful, and the housekeeping team did a fantastic job. We had a room with beautiful views, and the buffet spread was amazing every day, with a great mix of local and continental dishes. A special touch we really appreciated was the live flute performance during breakfast--such a peaceful start to the day.||A huge shoutout to Ban, our driver throughout the trip! He's not just great at what he does--he's lively, kind, and genuinely made our sightseeing experience so much more fun and memorable. He drove safely, chose scenic routes, took care of my motion sickness, and clicked some of the best photos and videos for us and even bought us Khasi good to try, which was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. We are so grateful to him for making our trip so memorable.||The only downside we experienced was that the restaurant's cleanliness could definitely be improved. We noticed the crumbs were often wiped off the table directly onto the chairs, and we had to request proper cleaning every day, which was disappointing for a Marriott property.||That aside, it was an overall amazing experience, and we'd definitely recommend staying here especially if you're lucky enough to have Ban as your local host!

Our experience at Courtyard Shillong was simply wonderful. The staff are courteous and friendly. Location is excellent, in the city center. Gives visitors a feel of the buzz of the town, especially in the evenings. We found security to be top notch. ||The room is spacious and we'll equipped. Sufficient replenishment of drinking water and tea/coffee. We enjoyed the breakfast spread and got to sample local cuisine as well. Sleep quality was excellent and there was hardly any street noise. ||Definitely the best option currently in Shillong, we look forward to coming back again.

Just being transparent--I had high expectations from the brand, but overall, I was left wanting more. Let me explain.||What worked well:||1. The breakfast spread was fantastic, with a good variety. However basic items were an issue. One day no raisins were kept, one day no lettuce- when we asked for them it took ages to get it. |||2. The restaurant staff were warm and attentive.|||3. Room and sleep quality were top-notch--no complaints there.|||4. Room service was prompt and efficient.|||5. The flautist who played during breakfast was simply brilliant--such a delightful touch.|||6. The check-in process was smooth, and we appreciated being given two adjoining rooms.||||Where they could do better:||1. There were quite a few suited staff members at the restaurant, but barring Karan--who genuinely engaged with guests--most seemed disengaged. That said, Nikunj stood out for his excellent service.|||2. I had an incident during the stay, for which the team did apologise and while the hotel attempted to make amends by offering a local thali dinner for the family, it felt like a half-hearted gesture. We were asked to come at 7:30 PM but were only served at 8:45 PM. The thali itself was underwhelming. By the way had another incident, where a glass peice narrowly missed my eye during breakfast.|||3. A la carte service at the restaurant was painfully slow.|||4. We asked for cocktails at dinner, only to be told the bartender was busy with another event. That was a letdown.|||5. The front desk team was efficient but came across as very transactional--zero warmth, no real engagement.||6) For the 4 times we had breakfast- we never had the full set of cutlery placed at the table. Always either the knife was missing of the fork was. When we asked for tissues, they did not have them and provided us with wet wipes.||||This is undoubtedly a beautiful property and great rooms. But they seem to be missing the opportunity to make it personal. For a holiday destination, the overall experience felt more like a business hotel. For instance, when we checked out, we just walked out--no one acknowledged or asked if we needed water for our ride- this is just an example of what could be done. The team had promised to make our stay memorable. I honestly don't think they did. And that's a shame, because they definitely had the chance.||Looking forward to trying out Vivanta Shillong on this same trip--keen to see how the two compare.

We stayed at Courtyard Marriott in Shillong for 4 days with family and had a really good experience. The rooms were nice and comfortable, and the location is great--just a short walk from Police Bazaar. The Wi-Fi worked well throughout our stay. The hotel has a good swimming pool, a functional gym, and a lovely play area that kept my toddler happily occupied.||We had almost all our meals at the hotel. The food was good with enough variety to keep everyone satisfied. The restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful--special thanks to Kalpesh, Tulasi, Jyoti, Sony, and others whose names I may have forgotten. They always served us with a smile, even when the restaurant was full and they were really busy.||Housekeeping did a great job and was very responsive whenever we needed anything. In-room dining was quick and prompt as well.||No complaints at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shillong

Every interaction felt personal and sincere, and the service was consistently five-star throughout my stay. I can't recommend the Marriott in Shillong, Meghalaya highly enough. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, it's the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and world-class hospitality.
