Aura cottage

One of the worst experience i ever had , owner is only up for money, she firstly booked 3 rooms and one fern room but she have kept only two rooms and one fern room in dirtiest possible way. And secondly she told me there is helper or you can use the kitchen to cook but nothing was available and she also mention about parking space but its not available. Everything is lie. Scammer! Never ever choose this place. Just a stupid person wana make money by scamming. Room charged like she is running a five star hotel. Worst experience ever . Not glad at all with aura cottage. If i could only give negative remarks i would give minus infinite...

Actual location is the red dropped pin. Both owner & caretaker are very helpful. Simple cottage to spend memorable moments.

We were 4 friends, roaming late night at shillong. We stayed at that lodge , the service is too good. We would like to stat there again.

Our stay at Aura Cottage in Shillong was a pleasant experience, though it had its challenges. The major disadvantage of this property is its location, which is quite a distance from the city center, Police Bazaar. We had difficulty finding direct transport and explaining its exact location to local taxi drivers and residents. This was quite a hassle, especially after a tiring journey. On the positive side, Aura Cottage does take online bookings. We used Goibibo for our reservation, which we recommend as a reliable booking aggregator. However, the prices for online booking seemed a bit high. It might be better to call the property directly to negotiate a better rate, as they seem open to this. Reaching the cottage required us to rely on Google Maps and walk for about a kilometer, which was not ideal. When we called for directions, the receptionist wasn't able to provide clear instructions and simply advised us to follow Google Maps. This was disappointing, especially since we later discovered there were shortcuts that could have made our walk shorter. The property is not easily accessible for disabled individuals due to the sloping lane leading to it. Once we found it, the front appeared congested, but the new cottages with four bunk beds and skylight with complete wooden finish were a visual delight and felt very cozy. We later stayed in a double bedroom in the older part of the cottage, which had a garden front, a passage, and a seating area, giving it an Airbnb vibe. The cottage had a charming old colonial appearance, adding to the nostalgic vibe. We really appreciated the aesthetic and enjoyed it immensely. The overall stay was good, and if you don't mind being away from the city center and enjoy walking, I would recommend this property. Knowing the shortcuts in advance will definitely make your stay more pleasant. Thank you, Aura Cottage, for the cozy and enjoyable experience.

Pictures uploaded by the owner is fake... There are no rooms like this... I was visiting Shillong i booked rooms and gave money in advance but at night when I visited the place it was like hell.... She faked the pictured and the room was very dirty... room was not maintained its side was was made up of wood and it was broken there is no thing like privacy there and the washroom was on sharing basis.... I will not recommend anyone to visit this place... owner asked 6000 rupees for a single night but the room didn't worth even 500

Rooms are good. But needs to be cleaner.

The owner of the cottage is very rude and money minded. They charged extra money by foul playing. It was a miscommunication from owner's end but still she behaved very rudely and asked us to leave their cottage in the middle of the night. However, Caretaker of the cottage was very decent, polite and helpful. But the cottage gets negative feedbacks as the owner is a con person.

Cute little homestay with a clean room and modern washrooms. Very kind and helpful caretaker. Easy to reach Police Bazar, Polo Bazar and IGP.
