Happiness Estate - FarmStay and FoodForest

Spent a wonderful 3 nights here, ringing in the new year with a group of friends. The property is beautiful, secluded, and perfect for a relaxing stay to recharge the batteries. Vikrant and Alka were such warm and welcoming hosts and the staff were excellent. The food deserves a special mention - we had such a variety of home-cooked dishes every day, all delicious. The pool is a great feature and we also loved our excursions for lunch at a local family's home and to an ayurvedic resort for massage. Thank you Happiness Estate!

We had a very pleasant stay at The Happiness Estate. We reached the hotel without having planned out anything else. But the host was kind enough to suggest amazing places to visit and to eat. ||The breakfast was mindblowing, served with delicious homemade jams. ||The rooms were very cozy, comfortable with beautiful interiors. ||The stay comes with an experience of boating with the local Konkan fisherwomen who give you a nice tour of the backwaters. ||Couldn't have asked for a better stay!||Would highly recommend it for couples as well as families.

We were looking for a quiet, relaxed and easy going place to spend a week. From the beginning, the host was prompt and helpful. Since we were driving down, he kept in touch through the journey guiding us and made us feel very welcome even before we had checked in. ||The room were were given was a part of the Forest Cottage and located at far end corner of the property. It overlooks the jungle and a water body. A wraparound verandah overlooked the lawns and the pool. The place has been kept as natural as possible. The plants, coconut trees, fruit trees, grass are all natural and blend with the man made structure seamlessly. The pool is clean and adequate enough for a nice swim. The entrance to the room is cheerful with Warli tribal painting adorning the walls. Our room was furnished with a very comfortable double queen sized bed, bedside tables, chairs, wardrobe, extra table. An electric kettle, towels, soap, warm water, bucket, mug, tea/coffee cups, glasses are provided. The AC works well. Wifi inside the room was weak but strong outside the room. A datun to encourage you to brush your teeth is also provided. Extra beds/cushions are provided for you to sit outside in the verandah in addition to chairs and a table. Happiness Estate takes quite a few steps to ensure that the place is eco friendly. ||The staff is small, efficient and caring. They will provide you with a laundry drying stand if needed. Food is really tasty. Its local, mostly fish/seafood in non veg and sumptuous. ||The host is generous and treated us warmly. I have been to many "pet friendly" places and have found them having a lot of restriction on the movement of the pet but, here the host and the Chief Happiness Officer - Bhuri (the resident dog) welcomed my dog openly and lovingly. We were made to feel at ease and immersed into a laidback life just in a few hours. The host was gracious enough to guide us on what we could do with our free time, providing us with information and offered to book the excursion to the mangroves, visit to the tribal museum and puppet show. ||It was a delightful stay for us overall and we highly recommend this place for those who want to enjoy some fuss free time amidst nature and relish local fares.

We found this property randomly and we are glad that we found it and stayed there. This is one amazing property with greenery all around. This is around 20 acres property which is 90% jungle with variety of trees and birds. The rooms are quite good, there are 2 types of room one new one and then the old residential property converted into 2 rooms. All rooms are quite good and specious. Old property is interconnected so if you have big family then this will be quite good option. Food is simply amazing, it's fresh, homely and delicious. We ate more then usual it was that good and the freshly prepared ice creams for desert was cherry on cake. You will definately be relaxed and rejuvenated here. The name is quite apt, one will be quite happy staying here and sad while leaving. Staff Johnson his family and Micky is very kind, helpful and caring, Johnson wife make super delicious and simple food. I will definitely recommend and would love to stay here again.

Me and my wife visited the HappinessEstate at Sawantwadi just before the Corona Lock-down in India.||||The weather was a bit hot for us but Morning and Evenings were pleasant. ||The property is very well maintained. There are total 6 cottages around the swimming pool.||||It was my birthday on the day we reached Sawantwadi.||Thanks to My wife and the Host Mr. Vikrant who had arranged nice dinner at a restaurant with fully customized menu, followed by specially baked birthday cake. I still want to have one more slice of that cake :)||||We had taken a package where visit to nearby Art Village of Pinguli and Mangrove tour was also included and a secret beach.||||We really liked the Home Cooked Breakfast and variety of locally produced Jams.||||The total trip was fantastic. I must mention that, Mr. Vikrant Nath who operates the resort is a great host and wonderful person.||All the best.

I spent NYE at Happiness with a group of friends. I think this must be my 4th stay here and as always hosted by host extraordinaire, Vikrant and his wonderful wife Alka. I think safe to say we all had a fantastic entry to 2023 - lots of fun, laughter, great bonfires, delicious homecooked food - every day something different to sample. Such a nice antidote to the madness of Goa at this time of year. I'm sure it will not be my last visit here !

The place is very nicely blended into the nature and the landscape is very beautiful. If you're a nature lover you'd definitely enjoy the place. It is really good for spotting different bird species. The staff is very polite and helpful, they really made a difference in the stay. Last but not the least the food was absolutely amazing. Home cooked food on a vacation is the best thing that could happen to any health conscious person like me.

People who put their heart into hosting you. Happiness Estate is virtually in a forest, you'll be surrounded by amazing biodiversity and birdlife (we spotted at least 30 species from the porch). The greens around are a therapy for city souls. The pool is just perfect for afternoons when it gets mildly warm. Vikrant is a fantastic host and an invisible manager. You don't hear him ordering around, but you know he is ensuring that your stay is comfortable. Johnson, Maxin and family put a large spread of Malvani delicacies for breakfast, lunch and dinner and even take care of diet restrictions for kids. We spent a week here and can spend a week more. For those who must go to Goa, it's just an hour's drive. Beach at Vengurla is better than most in Goa and just 40 mins away. Amboli with its waterfalls is also just half an hour away. Happiness Estate has all the comforts of a resort without the cookie cutter approach of one. My holiday here could not have been better. Oh, I forgot, Vikrant can also spoil you with homemade desserts -chikoo ice cream, kulfi, sevai, khada sheera which is almost translucent and roasted to a perfection. Watch your weight.
