Disappointing Stay with Significant Issues I recently stayed at this hotel for 6 days, having booked a room for 3 occupants. Upon arrival, however, I was given a room meant for 2 people instead. The hotel staff explained that a wedding was taking place, and it was a relative of the owner, but this did not justify the discrepancy in room allocation. Despite having already paid for the room in advance, this issue was not resolved. The reception service was not up to standard, and there were no amenities in the room such as a hairdryer or fridge, which are typically expected in such bookings. On a positive note, the room was spacious and was cleaned daily. A kettle was also provided, which was the only comfort during the stay. I was traveling with two toddlers from Chennai, and unfortunately, the overall experience was less than pleasant, particularly during the first three days. The complimentary breakfast was very limited, offering only four items at most, likely due to the wedding event. Communication was also challenging, as most of the staff did not speak English; only Marathi was commonly understood, which posed difficulties for non-Marathi speaking guests. In conclusion, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who does not speak Hindi or Marathi, as it greatly impacted the quality of the stay. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

Absolutely Terrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs! I had the worst experience at Hotel Kala Sagar, Pune, and I strongly advise others to stay away. From the moment I arrived, it was nothing but disappointment. 1. Unhygienic Rooms - The room was far from clean. There was dust on the furniture, the bedsheets looked reused, and the bathroom was poorly maintained with a foul odor. Even basic hygiene was not taken care of. 2. Pathetic Service - The staff was completely indifferent and unprofessional. Despite multiple requests, no one seemed interested in addressing concerns. Room service was slow, and even a simple request for drinking water took forever. 3. Horrible Food Quality - The food was absolutely inedible. Stale ingredients, bland taste, and even unhygienic presentation made it impossible to eat. It felt like they had no quality control at all. Overall, this was by far the worst hotel experience I've had. If you're looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay in Pune, do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. This place is a total disaster!
Cockroaches in the room, toilet and even bed. Room service doesn't come to clean even after calling multiple times. Better to carry a disinfectant spray. Food is good. Location is good.
Think 100 times before booking Kala Sagar Hotel, guys, because I had a very bad experience. I booked a room with breakfast included, but they still charged me for breakfast. When I questioned them, they simply said, "The bill has already been generated." The room had cockroaches, and there was no focus on cleanliness. I complained multiple times, but no action was taken. The behavior of the reception staff was terrible. I had booked an executive room, but my experience was very disappointing. Better book some other hotel, but never book this one!
I had one of the worst customer service experiences ever. The staff were incredibly rude and clearly untrained in how to speak to customers. On top of that, they provided incorrect information to guests without a hint of accountability. The real highlight, however, was the manager or supervisor--Mr. Dan. If there were an award for poor communication and unprofessionalism, he'd be a top contender. Rather than addressing the mistakes made by his staff, Mr. Dan chose to shout at customers--as if raising his voice would magically fix the confusion his team created. Apparently, his idea of leadership is blaming others and throwing tantrums. Instead of taking ownership, he treated guests like they were the problem. A truly masterclass performance in how not to manage a business. Would not recommend this place to anyone--unless, of course, you enjoy being yelled at for things that aren't your fault and receiving service that defines the absolute bare minimum (and even that's a stretch).
WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE - A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE! This was by far the worst hotel stay I've ever had! I regret booking this place and strongly advise others to stay away. 1. Terrible Hospitality - The hotel staff is completely unprofessional and lacks basic customer service skills. They don't care about guest comfort or complaints. You'll have to call multiple times for even the smallest issue, and still, nothing gets resolved. 2. Room Change Disaster - I had to change rooms THREE times in just three days because of multiple issues - faulty AC, unclean rooms, and overall poor maintenance. Imagine unpacking and repacking your bags repeatedly! It was exhausting and frustrating. 3. Lack of Basic Amenities - No dental kit, no shaving kit, and not even the most basic toiletries available. Even budget hotels provide these essentials, but this so-called "premium" hotel fails miserably. 4. Pathetic Room Conditions - The room AC wasn't working, and even after repeated complaints, they never fixed it. The room service is a joke--they don't respond on time, and when they do, the service is subpar. 5. Unhygienic & Dirty Environment - Housekeeping is horrible. The rooms are not cleaned properly, the washrooms are dirty, and there's a strong bad odor in the corridors. Towels and bed linens were stained and smelled bad. If you value cleanliness, DO NOT STAY HERE! 6. Customer Complaints Ignored - Calling the reception for help is a waste of time. They take forever to respond, and most of the time, they don't even bother. Multiple calls are needed for even the most basic service requests. 7. False Hype - "Naam Bada, Darshan Chhote" - The hotel markets itself as premium, but in reality, it's worse than a cheap motel. There are much better hotels available in the same price range that actually provide good service and hygiene. 8. Not Suitable for Corporate Travelers - If you're traveling for business, avoid this place at all costs. It's unreliable, unprofessional, and will only add stress to your trip. FINAL VERDICT: A complete disaster! Unprofessional staff, dirty rooms, no proper service, and a management that doesn't care about guests. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BOOK ELSEWHERE! This place deserves zero stars, but unfortunately, that's not an option. DO NOT RECOMMEND - HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!
It was an amazing experience and the way of treating people taking orders are also very nice and services are also good anytime you can visit them
Hotel Kalasagar is what I think is a heritage (meaning it has a good history or past) hotel but one that is going on the fumes of its past laurels and glory but frankly it requires some serious upgrade in its mindset and attitude and approach to contemporary hospitality. The hotel obviously has a great location with it located on the prominent Old Mumbai Pune Highway. Now with the purple line of Metro service in the city and it is conveniently under its canopy. It serves the Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune residents. There is great greenery, lawns and good landscaping. Parking is also there to some extent that I could notice. Not sure if it has ample parking for 500-1000 guests events though. Staff are well mannered and especially the security who are very courteous and helpful. The hotel itself has very good infrastructure and good spacious rooms per se. However, the furniture, beds, seats, tables, mattress, in a lot of cases going by the sampling of what I experienced personally needs major and minor overhauling and good servicing to be expected to continue in service. The most wonderful piece of energy saving and good system that they have installed is the superb sensor led lighting in all the passageways and stairs. The lights automatically light up on sensing movement and then switch off when the human movement is absent. However, I would have also expected them to do something similar with their toilet flushing. Half flush and full flush feature. Else each flush empties out 7-8 litres of water, which is a crime in these days. The worst experience is frankly the cockroach infestation in the rooms and bathrooms. I am actually fearing to open my luggage and laptop bag once I reach home for fear of carrying the pests with me. Maybe I need to quarantine it before taking it inside our apartment?! Mattress was squeaky and had uneven compression, felt a spring poke. Thankfully, didn't get to sleep although we had the room to freshen up. We were part of an engagement party at the hotel. What really felt sore was the extremely stingy and miserly treatment meted out. We were famously told that breakfast was included in the room booking but since we were checking in at about 10 or 1030 we couldn't avail it even though we mentioned that we would be checking out by midnight the same day. Not even a welcome drink or complimentary tea offered when we checked in. Really speaks volumes of the "atithi devo bhava" mentality of Kalasagar. The same stinginess was very well apparent in the lunch buffet. No coordination and system to cater to our group to ensure that everyone got soup, that the rotis got delivered in time. Extremely poor service. Also overcharging was evident. Bottled water served even though I mentioned that RO water can be given. Also warm water which is usually expected during winter even on demand, took time to arrive. Food was tasty but frankly at the evening dinner, the hotel raked in money like anything, because our guests didn't turn up as expected but I am sure our host had to pay for the full cover. Also despite this, extra food would not be given to us as takeaway. If I have a function like this I would never engage Kalasagar.
