HOTEL RAHI

We only needed to park car. I didn't take rooms but parking, which is pretty big. Can easily park at least 25 cars and at least about 15 bikes. Good supporting & understanding people. Please note we went off season and mid of week so maybe they didn't have many guests else they may prefer guests for parking. Rest of the space can be given I believe. We have 100 per 12 hours. So we gave 400 for 2 days(Thursday noon to Saturday noon). We left 1 early so dont know if they will refund. Will see when I get down from Matheran.

The only good thing about this hotel is its vicinity to Neral Toy Train Railway Station. Just a 2-minute walk. |Building is quite old and needs repairs. However, staff is courteous and well mannered. |Doesnot have a dine-in facility as most of the guests are over-night stayers on the move.|

If you are on the way to Matheran on a long weekend or a holiday, it's best to park the vehicle at this place / alternative places nearby. Used the parking space here on my visit to Matheran as a few regular travelers suggested rightly so as the parking at Dasturi ( Entry point into Matheran) is very limited and tough to get especially on holidays and weekends. Hotel Rahi looks to be more known for its safe Parking Area. They have a clean washroom for the people who use the parking area. Located in a very crowded area near the Neral railway station and the Taxi stand. Car wash available.

This hotel is a joke. The rooms are poor quality. We asked about hot water for a shower and were told " my hotel does not have showers" we will give you bucket! We asked about wifi. " my hotel does not do wifi". We asked about breakfast which was included, we waited nearly an hour and then the boy was sent out to get street food on the road.||All in all if you want a laugh, stay here, if you are looking for a decent place then look somewhere else. Way overpriced for what you get.

We wanted to spend the Christmas weekend (Dec 2011) in Matheran, but almost all the resorts or hotels in Matheran were either full or charging exorbitant rates...!||||Then we called Hotel Rahi, which is in Neral (about 8kms frm Matheran) and booked our Xmas weekend (not expecting much). But our surprise, its a small cosy hotel, with large rooms but budget rates & hassle free check in. The food was excellent, very tasty and room service prompt. They were also ready to shift us to a Matheran hotel for one day just to get a hang of being in Matheran, but we were just happy being in Rahi.||||Its a wonderful place, with a cute garden and the market is nearby, if one wants to go for a stroll. Kudos to the wonderful staff, prompt room service and tasty food :)||||We took the toy train in the morning to Matheran (u need to book in advance for the peak season).. but one needs to experience the toy train ride - its just like going back to the olden days (winding paths over the hilly terrain, awesome scenery with hills around).. not to be missed :) Matheran - its a must-go - walking in the woods, in between so much greenery... no vehicles, just people and horses roaming around (and yea the monkeys..!!)

Very arrogant sales team, special Mr Prasad shinde, if any agent reading these review, please don't go for bussiness tie up with such arrogant, unprofessional people, they have different rate sheet for diffrent agents, as they donot have b2b rates, they are just giving you b2c rates, and tell you to add your markup on its and next thing they will do is will share the same rates with your clients too. As we are working in this industry from past 10 years we doesn't come accross such unprofessional and and unethical people. For concern m sharing you screenshots. I don't think as a guest you will also get good hospitality or service by their staff too, coz their front desk team told us he is the MD so just read message below and think twice before doing bussiness with them.

This is the official parking space for people traveling to Matheran safe place to park your cars. They also will wash your car on your request. It's right opposite to taxi stand of Matheran.

Such a humble staff we request a room for changing our clothes. They have given at very low cost with the conscent of its owner. Thanks for being so kind.
