Sohana Eco Retreat Farmhouse with Treetop Machaan, Karjat and Neral

We had a lovely time at Sohana Eco Retreat. Firstly, I was happy that we could stay with our pets. Secondly, we loved the concept of an eco-friendly stay and could see the genuine efforts of the owners and caretakers to maintain that claim. The place was next to the flowing Ulhas River, and the backyard opened to give us a refreshing river sight. You can dip your feet just when you step out of the back of the property. The place itself is beautifully designed. High ceiling rooms, kitchen and the veranda, gave this place a rustic yet grand feel. The natural pool within the property is a cute touch. The trees in the backyard are nurtured well. The only challenge was that there were no restaurants around, so you were stuck with what the caretaker could cook for you. But the food while had limited choices never disappointed us. Vegetarian food was great, non-veg food was just okay. Backyard is still being worked on, so we could not experience it much, but whatever plans they have are great! The gym was in a bad state, I could not use any equipment, but we could enjoy other sports like carrom, badminton and everything was provided for. Bottom line is, the place had a wholesome feel and we never had a dull moment.

This place offers a peaceful escape from the daily grind. Surrounded by lush greenery and featuring a charming rustic theme, every corner is thoughtfully decorated, including the lovely paintings adorning the walls. The property also boasts a farm area in the backyard, along with a well-maintained outdoor swing, pool, and lighting that enhance the villa's beauty. We thoroughly enjoyed our time

Beautiful rustic bunglow, very different from usual hotel. The swimming pond is chlorine free and natural. Interiors are rustic and lot of attention to details. Very well maintained and looked after.

A good home stay. The access road is slightly unfinished, but overall the access is okay. The food was good too. We also opted for the barbeque, the vegetarian options were good, for non-veg, only chicken is available and that wasn't too great. The swimming pool was not clean during our visit, but this was communicated to us in advance. The property directly touches a river, the access to it could be better.

Lovely place, especially as we went it our pets. Spacious and clean rooms, plenty of greenery and the river pej flowing by. A peaceful and secluded place, highy suitable for getting away from the rush of Mumbai

We had a wonderful 2-day stay at Sohana. It's a lovely house, easily accessible by public transport from Mumbai, and the perfect place to relax. Didn't get a chance to meet Sumit but he was in touch over phone, and communication was easy and efficient. Jayawanta helped us settle in and served us delicious home-cooked meals. Thank you, Sumit and Jayawanta-tai -- we look forward to visiting you again :)

Great place, we stayed end-January. One can just chill in the indoor pool or sit by the river nearby which is just a stone's throw away. Highly recommended for a weekend stay with pets. Our 3 year beagle just loved running all around.

Incredible property with outstanding support and warmth by staff. The owner Mr. Sumit took special care ensuring we have a very comfortable stay even though he was in London. He kept checking with us on every small detail.
