Powai Dormitory

It was an amazing stay here recently when I visited Mumbai with my friends. A compact and clean space with the friendly and supportive staff. Easy to locate near IIT Bombay with all the facilities available nearby even at midnight. Total value for money.

Its a good place to stay for a day or two. Perfect suit for single travellers. They have good arrangements and equipped with lockers, reading lamp, portable fan and charging sockets. Toilets are clean. Some may feel cozy or uncomfortable during day time because AC won't be there and no ventilation is provided. Otherwise its good. Care Taker is very friendly and helping. A good place for freshup or a night stay..

Budget friendly hostel located in Powai, Mumbai. It is a popy choice for students, backpackers, business travelers. The hostel offers a variety of facilities, including shared dormitories, private rooms, laundry facilities, a common kitchen and a rooftop terrace. Private rooms are clean and comfortable. They are equipped with a single bed, a chair, and a fan. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Not comfortable for more than 2 day stay. Ac is turned on only for a few hours in the night and switched off early in the morning. The staff head is not kind. Bed always had some dirt ants when I would return at night. Literally no space to move if you have broad shoulders. If more than 10 people are staying in the dorm, the washrooms become a problem. In the morning you will probably have to wait before you can use them. Although there are three washrooms, only two of them is suitable to have a shower. Do not give your laundry to the laundry guy who comes there. Absurd prices - 50 for two pieces of cloth. You would rather get a better service at a cheaper price with one of the established laundry services somewhere in powai. Only good part is that it is walking distance from iit. Except for drinking water, nothing else is provided there. The guy who runs the place wouldn't do me the simple courtesy of letting me keep my suitcase there when I had to go somewhere far and not return for one night. He demanded that I pay 500 just to keep my suitcase there. And this was after I had been staying there for more than two weeks. The curtains don't provide much privacy. If you are a person who requires personal space and a sound sleep, do not stay here. There's always some other dude who is talking on the phone loudly at night, and sadly curtains can't block sound. To conclude, not a pleasant stay.

It was one of the most cleanest dormitory and the bathrooms are clean. Women's section and men's section is different. It is affordable. Storage space is given for luggage and one for storing phones and small stuff. Pillow and rug are given. Gets cleaned everyday. Bed torch is given. Charging points are there. Bunker beds are available. No food or drinking water provided. Have to manage our own or ask the owner to get it. Walking distance to IIT Powai. Would recommend anybody who is solo traveler.

The place is really good for budget travelers, there is a little space crunch, please see it is a little uneasy to sleep in those beds if you are longer than 6ft, the staff is really nice and polite, the toilets and beds are really clean. They have curtains for each bed which is good for privacy, the place has some nice eating joints and restaurants at walking distance, the IIT is also at walking distance. The rooms are air conditioned which is really helpful to beat the Mumbai heat.

The beds and bunk are fine for short term stay and bathrooms are clean. However a lot of falsely advertised facilities. There is no proper lounge area. You only have a cramped bunk to stay in. No TV or eating area. The breakfast option is misleading. I paid for it but barely got a cup of tea and 100g poha after arguing that my intenerary has it mentioned. The staff themselves were eating 5 times the portion given to me. There are better hostels and dormitories so avoid unless you have no choice.

I liked the privacy and the treatment.Being a single girl I was provided with all the help and care possible even more than that..The owner was very sweet he helped me starting from taking an urgent print out that I needed for the interview process at IIT Bombay at 8.30 am in morning to dropping me off in the railway station at his own expenses ..he bought me the local train ticket and helped me reached the correct platform .I couldn't have asked more .He didn't treat me like a customer rather he treated me like a dear friend and family.The location is very close to IIT. It is mainly for students who have an interview at IIT or whoever who hasn't got a hostel to stay in IIT.you have to manage your own food because they don't provide you with food here.but they have a small kitchen.They provide pure RO water free of cost all the time.They have a single seperate bathroom for women .It is for those comfortable in staying at bunk beds all day. All in all is safest place for solo women travellers .There is a busy market just outside the dormitory so anyone can buy essential or food from there.The place is clean .They provide a small table fan on each bed and a mattress .
