MTDC, Matheran.

We visited the place during 2nd week of May. The weather was bit cloudy. We had booked a Valley View Family Suite. The room was clean and spacious and the washroom was also very clean. We found the property well maintained. Special mention for the "Spice Restaurant". Food was delicious and the service was good, though bit short staffed.

The hotel location and the premises is very good. The rooms are good, the room size is big but the maintenance is not up to the mark. The bathroom and toilet need maintenance. There is no phone to call room service. The food in the restaurant is good but it is under staffed.

No security for property. Average food, only 20% items were available out of menu. Breakfast quality was even worse. Leakage in all tabs of room. Mattress and bedding was unclean. Garbage around kitchen. Outsider was using property as road. Area of property is big but not managed properly. No other activities possible/ available. 725 rs asked for extra matress. Room service person was unofficially offering in lower price. Property is located nearby horse stable, so constant odour.

Worst. Worst. Worst. Worst of the worst hotel. Urge everyone from personal experience to never go in that hotel Reason - No swimming pool - water dirty, RED. They told us that due to rain there is dirty water everywhere in Matheran, whereas it was not the case in other hotel I booked - Very far from actual market place - charges also very high as compared to other decent hotels in Matheran - I felt cheated as since this is a government hotel so I expected a good hotel

calm rustic, easily accessible, right next to parking bay.. though it is away from market place, you can either walk to market place or hire horse or e-rickshaw. the toy train station Aman Lodge is 2 min walk and you can also catch train to market as per the schedule. If you love peace and serenity and like being surrounded by greenery, this is the place. food is also good. very limited breakfast option. worth visiting. online booking available through mtdc website subject to availability

It was worst experience ever in a MTDC resort, the room conditions are very bad, the basin was leaking, no towels and soaps were provided until we asked for. Not even handwash was kept. No telephone in room , and because there was no range at all it was really very difficult if we wanted anything. No security guards were seen after 8.30pm, the kids play area Is in utter shit, completely dirty and most of the instruments are broken. Not recommended at all.

I recently stayed at mtdc matheran vally view deluxe room and unfortunately, my experience was below expectations. Here are the main issues I faced: Cleanliness: The room was not properly cleaned. "There was dust on surfaces, and the bathroom was not well-maintained." Basic Amenities Missing, there was no phone in the room, making it difficult to contact reception. Additionally, essential items were not provided. Breakfast Quality: The breakfast options were limited, and the quality was disappointing."The food was cold, and there were no healthy options." I believe these are basic expectations for a comfortable stay, and I hope the management addresses these issues to improve guest experience in the future. Please don't go there.

So this resort is at the start point of Matheran, named Kasturi. From Taxi stand walking 2 mins. You can catch Taxi from Neral Station which will cost Rs. 500 for 5ppl will reach within half n hour. Toy train is also available which will take almost 2 hrs but it will cover most of the points. So if you want to just chill and relax this place is good at reasonable price. As you won't get any resort in Matheran at this price. We have booked 2 Cottage room and 1 standard room. Cottage Room was way big and amazing. Cleanliness was overall good. Washroom was clean in cottage room but standard room washroom is not that clean. They provide bedsheets, toiletries all in good condition. We were having individual bonfire night as well during night time with dj. Location - If someone wants to visit points and parks then it is way too far from this place so one should not book resort if you want to visits points as it might take much time and you might end up getting tired as well.
