Hotel Girivihar

I have been visiting this place since 2008 and love everything about it. The location is just right...away from the hustle and bustle of the market and yet, not too far from it either. The rooms are basic but has a charm. The greenery in and around the property has a soothing effect. And the food is an icing on the cake. The hotel is owned by the Acharya family and they are more than happy to be there for the guests. Highly recommended!

Rooms are specious, neat and clean. Food (Only Veg) was tasty and finger-licking good. Staff is very courteous . Hotel premise has large open area with different kind of trees. Over all very nice weekend amidst nature.

The rooms were clean and big enough. Service was good too. The location is little far from market.. but manageable. A quite, child friendly place. Overall, We enjoyed the stay here.

Osum experience, really like the hotel, must visit with family, friends and with your partner. This is Couple friendly. Place is very pleasant coverd with forest all over, staff is very nice, food is very osum, the owner and host of the hotel is so friendly and kind with guest. Rooms and Bathroom are very clean, hospitality is also very good. There are also indoor games and garden fir kids. I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends. And definitely visit again here.

This property has my heart.. Peaceful and close to nature with great views, tasty and hygienic food, comfortable rooms and all services upto the mark. We are visiting this hotel since generations and each time we go, we come back with beautiful memories. Thankyou Mrs. Smita for amazing management and making our trip a wonderful one always. She is very cooperative, helpful and friendly with guests. She has maintained the property well. Totally worth visiting this place.

Girivihar is a great place for family and friends. The rooms are well clean and airy. It was exactly what one needed after long walks throughout the day. Most of all, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly which makes the entire experience even better. The meals were also super tasty.

One of the best location in Matheran. It is super cozy, comfortable, in the woods and awesome place. Staff is super friendly and the owners are amazing. They make it worth it for every guest. Me and my family always choose Girivihar because it is so welcoming.

Rooms are spacious but antique and needs immediate renovation. Bathrooms are clean and huge but lacks shower and hot water. We stayed for two days and had only one day morning of hot water. Second morning no hot water and we had to bath in chilled cold water. Even though check out is 10am and checkin is 12pm, three reminders for checkout started from 8am onwards. The property is huge but far away from market place and station. Walk is not advisable as the road is earthern and sloppy. Horse ride or pull cart charge rs400-500/- per person one way. Property is not illuminated in night and we had to stay indoors. It was illuminated on our last day of stay. No TV initially but was provided on request. No Network area but room wifi is provided. All over matheran has weak mobile network
