Captans Home Stay - Best Airbnb in Lonavala

i really enjoyed my stay at Captans Homestay. I went to rejuvenate myself and i returned with positivity and peace in mind. The place is serene and quiet the most close to the nature you can get. Its quiet, away from the concrete jungle and no hustle bustle of traffic and crowd. I loved the room i was staying in it was big and felt like owners have handpicked the decor and aesthetically designed it. Will recommend this experience as i have promised myself to be back here again very soon. :) P.S. - Since its away from city centre. its advisable that you carry any essentials. As there are no shops nearby. Also the road for 300-500m to reach is not well maintained. So once you reach there, you wouldnt want to drive back till end of your trip.

Beautiful place right opposite Upper Deck.. on far end of Lonavala.. quite, serene, surrounded by trees.. good clean pool.. spacious rooms.. well priced Only issue we felt was lack of politeness from the cook - may need attention & training.

Very nice place, quiet and peaceful, away from hustle and bustle of city life. Little inconvenient as in away from market area, so you will not find anything readily. There are no shops nearby. Preferable if you have your own vehicle. However service is top notch, the food feels like home, and overall the greenery will soothe your eyes.

Very good and cozy place with good ambience and the owner was very good. One good thing is the rooms are very spacious There is a Didi who cooks good homely food. I would rrate this place 9 out of 10. In case you need any feedback you can call me as well

Been here twice, and it didn't disappoint on both occasions. Love the location, surrounded by hills and tucked away in a corner, and far from the madness of lonavala. The entry roads to this place will need a car with a decent ground clearance. Compliments to the host, Payal who has done a fabulous job with the interiors and overall decor of the rooms.

I've spent most of my childhood in Lonavla and seen it overdeveloped and destroyed beyond recognition . Captains has made me fall in love with Lonavla all over again . The location near Ontario dam brought back memories of weekend picnics to the dam in a bullock cart with cousins and dogs on tow. The resort with its resident cuckoos , babblers and kingfishers took me back to an era when these were my wake up call and fireflies my night lamps . I love the fact that they've built the resort around the trees and not vice versa . I loved every moment of my stay here from the well appointed rooms to the fabulous cook 'Rani' who plied us with delicious fare throughout the day and late into the evening - with a cute smile . The lack of intercom and WiFi can make it a bit irritating but only because I would rather shut my mobile off for the duration of my stay and only pull it out to click a random pic or two. Dinner under the stars with a few residents for company . Tea below the trees. If you want to switch off and let the bulbul be your alarm click and crickets serenading you to sleep then , and only then come here . If you want whatsapp , selfies, loud music and even louder chatter , there are hundreds of hotels in Lonavla to cater to those needs . Let this gem remain what it is - a haven of tranquility that people like me cherish and hope will not go the Lonavla way . It's survived 20 yeses this way and I hope it will for a few more decades at least . I doff my hat to you Capn Chabba . The world needs more such escapes and escapists :))
