MTDC Resort Lonar

Restaurant is on double height 1st floor. Senior citizens will find it difficult to climb to the Restaurant. Service is as good as none. Just 1 cook n 1 helper doubling as a waiter. Though limited menu, however, food was freshly prepared and tasty. Egg curry n chapati & Pithla bhakri were awesome. Dal khichdi was different. Could have been better.

I had a wonderful stay at MTDC Lonar. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable experience. The location is perfect, surrounded by nature, making it a peaceful retreat. It felt safe for families, and the staff was courteous and helpful. The food was also delicious, adding to the overall great experience. A perfect place to stay while exploring the Lonar Crater! Highly recommended.

Probably one an only good option in Lonar for stay. Pros : Located nearby Lonar crater. Spacious rooms. Very good food quality. Good service. Cons: underpowered AC, not sufficient for spacious rooms. Bathrooms were okayish.

Rooms have good space, but are very ill managed. Cupboards are age old, stinky and are placed at such a place in front of the concrete platform that the door does.not fully open. Plumbing is in the worst pathetic condition. Food is average. Location is good.

Did not stay here but went for breakfast. The taste, quantity and quality was very good. The prices are accordingly a bit higher but it is fine. The surroundings are spacious and clean. I did not see many tourists but it is a good place to stay.

MTDC Lonar Resort is a fantastic place to stay, offering breathtaking views of the Lonar Crater Lake and a peaceful ambiance. The location is perfect for nature lovers and those seeking a serene getaway. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff is courteous and helpful.

Given the fact that this is a government run resort and it is budget friendly, one must not expect tastefully done rooms. The rooms are equipped with most of the requirements for a peaceful sleep and freshening up to leave for your next trip. The location is excellent and you have your own balconies which are quite big and Ideal for a sit out. The food is good, but one must check with the staff for availability of items in the menu and alternatively, they cook as per requirement if informed a day in advance. The breakfast menu is limited as well. I would advise to get in touch with the management before checking in to place an order for all your meals as Lonar is still developing as a tourist destination and all perishables must be calculated in an optimum manner so that there is no wastage. Again, Lonar is developing as a tourist destination, so kindly go with an open mind to explore. I am pretty sure, a few years down the line, Lonar will be crowded with tourists. So exploring it now makes sense.

Like many other MTDC resorts, this one is no exception, it lives up to the reputaion of MTDC resorts 'fantastic property- badly maintained'. Location is very good, huge property, well constructed, but poorly maintained. There are variety of options for accomodations, including AC cottages and dorms. Rooms are spacious but could be and should be maintained much better. No intercoms, no TV (not a big deal), no WIFI, unclean toliets and toiletaries, poor arrangements for hot water. No proper power backup even though power outage is quite common. Couldn't check how effective was the AC, as we were there is winter. Room service is poor, added to it lack of intercom connectivity. The restaurant is almost on second floor, considering the height of the staircase, which can be a challenge for old and / or overweight pax. Availabilty of items and service staff left a lot to be desired. Overall a mixed experience. However due to ack of any alternate accomodation at the Lonar, the resort is generally full on weekends and holidays.
