Orchard Resort

Visited Orchard Resort in Gholvad and left disappointed. The property feels outdated, the rooms are shady, and the staff seemed uninterested. Not worth recommending.

Good resort with large garden. Rooms are clear and need some maintenance during my November 2016 visit. As per talked with manager resort will close for guest after a month for maintenance purpose and for expansion. Hope now it is more beautiful then earlier. Food is very good. Swimming pool need water filter facility. Overall good place for relaxing with family.

Nice place but restaurant still not active but under construction.person manage reception there is good man and nice and clean wheather.

Orchard resort A simple and beautiful resort. Crazy crab is a restaurent at front of resort. Very nice quality and quantity of Non-Veg food. Especially seafood is very delicious. Service is slightly slow but worth the wait. Open restaurant nice atmosphere.

Rooms conditions are horrible. we booked 2 super deluxe & 1 AC Deluxe room. entire night AC was not working even after paying AC charges. We called maintenance person to look into it but he could not manage. Rooms are very shabby not clean.no basic amenities. not worth. please do not waste your money. as far as food is concerned yes it's good. apart from food nothing is good / worth. it is advisable not to visit this resort. 'zero'

We stayed here on 5th and 6th of may14 and we had a nice time here. It's a lovely resort to stay in. Staff is very cooperative. Room service is good. The Crazy crab restaurant is lovely and food here is great. The swimming pool has a nice setting around. Overall a memorable experience.

IN SHORT: Visit if you want a quiet escape from city life and carry enough cash with you to last your entire trip or be prepared to hunt for ATMs. DETAILED: The place itself is quite good. The rooms in the cottages are worth the price and are incredibly private. Since we visited on a weekday, the entire cottage was practically ours. The restaurant out front is also quite good. Now for the bad stuff - Gholvad is a very undeveloped region and doesn't even have a proper ATM. One has to go to Bordi, around 2 km from there for ATMs. Also, the hotel doesn't accept credit cards, which in this age, is completely unacceptable. Additionally, despite the windows being shut, spiders and red ants found their way to our bedside and it became difficult to sleep without first changing the sheets and then dusting the mattress. Another thing to remember is that Gholvad goes eerily quiet and dark in the evening and it is downright scary to venture out after 9pm. Even in the afternoon, there are hardly any people around and the beach is mostly desolate and dirty. If you want to enjoy the beach, you might want to visit the Bordi beach near the Technical school and that too in the morning. Other than that, the resort itself is quite well made and well maintained with a helpful staff and a nice small pool. Ask for the rooms with the bathtubs and do check the appliances like geyser, AC etc before you move into your room.
