MPT Shipra Residency, Ujjain

Centrally located in the busy area of Ujjain, the Shipra Residency is surprisingly well maintained for a Govt run facility. The rooms are spacious, linen clean and the beds are comfortably large. The washroom, as in most MP Hotels, has no segreagation of dry and wet regions. So the second person who goes in will need to be careful not to skid. The toiletieries are adequately provided and replenished. The water taps are "sophisticated" and challenge you to select your preference. Broad windows with thick curtains provide a cozy ambience.||The parking lot is big (and parking at owner's risk!). The Hotel is in two blocks of two floors each. One has a lift to reach first floor. The older unit has provided only steps. So people with knee problems have to choose accordingly. ||The breakfast has a good spread but if a large number of guests simultaneously seat themselves, the kitchen staff struggle to replenish fast moving items. The food is tasty and a bit spicy.||The staff are polite, and prompt.

From perspective of govt. run hotel, experience was unexpectedly good. Location is convenient. Breakfast reviews were average but we found food was good in taste. Don't expect much continental options. Rooms were spacious, bed was clean, AC was perfectly working, bathroom was big and clean.

My recent stay at this hotel was underwhelming and left quite a bit to be desired. While the rooms were clean and spacious, which is the bare minimum one would expect, that's about where the positives end. The overall experience felt more mediocre than memorable.||The biggest disappointment was the food. Despite being advertised as a key feature, the meals were bland, lacking variety, and far from what you'd expect at this price point. Room service was slow, and the dining area didn't feel welcoming or properly maintained. For anyone who values a good meal during their stay, this hotel falls short in a big way.||Service throughout my stay was passable at best. Staff were polite but seemed disinterested and inattentive, which made the atmosphere feel cold and impersonal. Basic requests took longer than necessary, which added to the overall frustration.||While the room itself provided a decent place to sleep, that alone isn't enough to warrant a return visit. With so many other options available, it's hard to justify staying here again unless management addresses the poor dining experience and improves overall service quality.

Good location and great facility. It was our first time in Ujjain. We were lucky to find this location. The room was clean, front desk was helpful. We were specifically impressed by the restaurant. We were planning of having only breakfast there but after trying their breakfast, we ate all three meals there for 2 days. In the restaurant, the staff was able to prepare things to our liking and modify few things as per our instructions. Also, they kept out 3 years old kid entertained. MPT Shipra Residency is a fantastic place to stay! The hospitality is good with staff always ready to assist. The rooms are OK, and comfortable. The location is also convenient, with easy access to local attractions viz Mahakaleshwar, Kal Bharav, Gadkalika and Harsiddhi shakti peeth. The overall ambiance is good and relaxing. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a pleasant stay while visiting Temples. Food served is also good to taste.

I stayed at MPT Shipra on 20th April 2025 with my family, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The property is well-maintained, and the rooms are spacious and comfortably large, making for a relaxing stay. The hotel also has ample parking space, so you can easily park your vehicle and take an auto to visit the Mahakal temple. Its prime location ensures that transportation is never an issue. The food at the hotel is also good and hygienic, which added to our comfort. However, the only downside was the air conditioning. Since the rooms are quite large, the AC struggled to effectively cool them. We had booked two rooms, and both faced similar issues with the AC not being strong enough to cool the space properly. Overall, it's a great place to stay !

This MP Tourism's stay was comfortable, spacious and clean rooms and wide bathrooms. All staffs were courteous and polite, food was served piping hot and fresh, anything you order. The location of the hotel was prime, with good shopping areas and cafes nearby. The property overall was also quite huge. We stayed in a deluxe room and it had a balcony too. They provided all amenities in the room from toiletries to tea and water. The food menu had many varieties from Indian to oriental. Services were quick too. Just one thing here would be a request to consider adding a ramp or a lift even though just a floor so that our parents or grandparents with knee issues can also consider staying at first floor rooms.
