We were in the river view cabins. They are built on stilts to survive the periodic flooding which twice has destroyed this lodge. Large spacious bedroom with sitting area. Large bathroom with separate dressing area. Large covered veranda with plunge pool. Great view over the Ken River at sunset. Excellent food and service. Great location for accessing Panna Tiger Preserve.

This is a relatively budget-oriented safari lodge. It is not a luxurious place; more like a nicely done American summer camp. A Holiday Inn level stay. BUT that's great if it matches your budget or if you need it as a waypoint for a longer journey. The service was excellent. The food was very good; like most safari lodges in India, alcohol is not included. The rooms were spacious and clean, but it has an old feeling. Because it was a waypoint for us, we paid to take one early morning river safari that was quite fun (about $25USD/couple). Most of the guests when we were there were Indian families on vacation with their kids. Almost none of the staff spoke English.
Our stay at Ken River Lodge was an amazing experience. We loved the river facing cottage with a plunge pool and mezannine. Food and service was applaud able. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. A special mention for Mr Rahul and Dharam taking care of every little detail related to food and activities. ||Dr Deepali Mathur
My friends and i had a wonderful stay at Ken River Lodge . True to its word there is Ken river flowing right outside your balcony . Rahul and his team took absolute care of us . We reached at 11 30 pm in the night and he waited to welcome us and served us a warm dinner. Right from the river boat ride with bird watching to jungle safaris and the stay at Jhirna mud lodge was all immaculately planned. The transport arranged to Khajurao temple and viewing the Dance festival was a treat. The food too though was a buffet but we could order our own dishes too which they could prepared. Would definitely recommend and will visit again with my husband and children.
We have been travelling in India for 2 weeks and have stayed in some excellent hotels. However these hotels have all been in cities so it was a pleasant change to be out in the countryside with the sound of birds and away from the traffic. Ken River Lodge as the name suggests is on the southern side of the Ken River. Our accommodation was a large lodge perched 15 feet above ground level (the river floods in the wet season) with a large bedroom complete with a huge bed adjoining dressing room, a bathroom and a lovely balcony/ terrace overlooking the river. |Breakfast is served at your table in a large tree house restaurant as is dinner after you have eaten your starters in front of your own fire pit. The video which plays each night is not great especially after the first viewing but is apparently due to be replaced. We had an excellent early morning boat ride (3,500 for 1.5 hours ) for 2 people. The river was like a mirror in every direction with lots of birds so bring binoculars. We did a safari in the Panna Safari Park which was ok. There are apparently Tigers but we didn't see any but did see a Sloth Bear. The walk around the lodge grounds is very pleasant if you have an hour or two to spare.
Duration of Stay: 4/3/25 to 6/3/25 No of rooms: 2 river facing stilt cottage and 1 premier hut What a fabulous place and experience at Ken River Lodge. My first stay was in Mar 24 and now we came back with the full family. Rooms are spacious with a very comfortable bed and bath. Food is delicious and so is the space around the rooms. The hotel does bonfires in the evenings while airing a documentary on the wildlife of Panna. They also arrange for Safaris and a boating cruise in the river. This is an ideal place to relax and unwind.
Great Place to stay. We stayed in the Stilt Lodge overlooking the river. Beautiful verandah. Huge room with dressing space. Large bathroom. Only downside was the head shower. No force at all. Difficult to take a shower. They don't have a hand shower also. Apart from this everything in this Lodge was great. Food superb. They also cooked Bundeli Khana for me, at my request. All staff including the manager Rahul was very good.
We have been regularly visiting Panna and staying at Ken River lodge since 2022 at least once and sometimes twice a year. It is now like a second home.|The property is beautiful - comfortable log huts and cottages nestled amidst lush greenery. Dining hall stop a large tree on the bank of the Ken River.|Every bit worth a visit.
