Meru Vann

My friend and I stayed at the Meru Vann, the lodge owned by Nature Safari India, while visiting Kanha National Park. Our room was luxurious and very comfortable. The lodge is vegetarian and the food excellent. The chef was also very willing to accommodate our dietary needs. The staff was so attentive - the entire team clearly takes pride in their service. Our guide on safaris was very knowledgeable and he and the driver worked together to get us positioned for fantastic views of tigers. We highly recommend this lodge and Nature Safari India! Both are exceptional.

We stayed at Meru Vann Lodge in Kanha National Park for 3 nights, and it was exactly the kind of place we had hoped for while planning our trip. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless -- warm hospitality, delicious food, exciting safaris, and peaceful nature walks. The staff was welcoming and always available when needed. A special highlight was the magical walk under the stars and the beautifully arranged bush dinner -- truly memorable! Chef Aslam's food was outstanding. We are definitely coming back very soon!

We were told the property was remodeled and had only been open a couple of months. This is the only place to stay if you want a modern up to date resort. The staff was over the top nice and accommodating. The absolute best place we stayed on our three different tiger reserve resorts. When we left I forgot and left a piece of my cpap equipment. fifteen minutes down the road and they called our driver to report what i had left. We turned around and after about five minutes we see two guys on a motorbike headed our way and waving. It was Umgar (excuse the spelling) and another staff member with my cpap equipment. Couldnt believe it. What service. I'll never forget what they did. Everything was outstanding including the chef's meals and their attention to every detail. I don't usually do reviews, but in this case I just had too. Great staff, beautiful resort and Tigers to be seen. I have no negatives Thank you Meru Vann. Jack T

The property at Meru Vann as a peaceful forest oasis on the edge of Kahna National Park. Omkar greeted us and made sure that every aspect of our stay went smoothly. Verdraj made each meal a work of art. A special treat was the amazing hot fudge sundae that I liked so much that it was served for breakfast on our last day. I was delighted!|All of the staff were excellent and attentive. |Alam was our naturalist and driver for two full day nature safaris. Our Kahna nature guide, Kamal accompanied us for both days. We had multiple absolutely matchless tiger sightings. We also saw spotted deer, sambar deer, guar, mongoose, a cobra (oh boy!) and more. Alam was a particularly conscientious guide taking the time to stop and enjoy the night sounds and see the fireflies as well as the larger wonders of Kahna. |The experience with Meru Vann was phenomenal. I can recommend with enthusiasm.

Wow! What a beautiful place to stay! The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, well equipped with an amazing bathroom. We were quite close to the gate to the park which we know well. The chef was very talented and we enjoyed our chats with him and other members of the staff. His food was excellent. Of course we were absolutely delighted to be there when the owner Sharad was there whom we have know for fifteen years and is a true friend. An absolute joy to spend quality time with him. His and Nature Safari India's attention to detail, as always, made the whole trip seamless. Our pickup in Delhi and all the flights and taxis worked well as usual. My wife and I had an exceptional experience at Meru Vann. Vedraj and the rest of the kitchen staff prepared scrumptious meals--every dish was a five-star feast. Omkar took care of every detail of our stay, ensuring we felt truly welcome.||Alam, an incredibly experienced naturalist, guided us on two full-day safaris in Kanha, where he knew exactly where to find tigers and other charismatic megafauna like sambar, blackbuck, and gaur. He also spotted and identified many fantastic birds for us.||I can't imagine how our stay at Meru Vann could have been any better--it far exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to return!

It is difficult to know where to start. Bagh Tola, an existing quality lodge, was taken over recenty by the new owner and transformed, almost reincarnated into Meru Vann. Whilst still in its infancy, it already setting a standard by which all other lodges will be judged. My wife and I spent four days at this beautiful place, enjoying the tranquility and peaceful ambience that it exudes. Each aspect of this 16 acre paradise has been upgraded, refurbished and redecorated using the best materials, and an unusually high quality of finsh and attention to detial. There is a mix of hard paving and soft landscaping externally that has been proprtioned so well. Fortunately the surrounding wooded area has been, and will be kept untouched. So, a haven for wildlife is maintained.|The comfort in each of the 8 rooms is unrivalled. The kitchen has been completed modernised and extended to allow their highly skilled team to prepare delicious food for all tastes. Virtually all the ingredients are locally grown and thus very fresh. You will not believe the variety of vegetable dishes, tempting cakes and desserts that the chefs produce on a daily basis. All the staff are excellent and have been trained to ensure every small detial is covered to make your stay truly memorable.|Of course, the new owner has a long standing love affair with Kanha National Park. To the uninitated, it is one of the most beautiful parks in India, where Rudyard Kipling based his Jungle Book. You are just a short drive away. Thus Meru Vann employs naturalist guides of the highest calibre. The most senior one can actually converse with tigers...yes, he speaks their language! That just about caps it all. |My wife and I travel the world sating our passion for wildlife, and we have been travelling to India regulary for 15 years. There is no better combination than Kanha|and of course.... Meru Vann. You will not be disappointed.

Highly recommended! What a nice hotel with very friendly and attentive staff and located near the national park gate. The rooms are very spacious and modern. The chef was spoiling us with delicious veg menus. They even organised us wine for dinner.||Thank you again to all the staff that made our stay unforgettable!||The 4 swiss guys
