Hotel Dhwaj Palace Maheshwar

Let me be very clear, my priorities were different for being in Maheshwar. I liked this hotel because it is very very near to the ghaat (3 mins walking), the host-Mr. Vinay Saraf ji- is very mild-mannered person and offered his expertise/knowledge to me. He also got me in touch with a nice tour operator when I asked him about a short trip to Mandu. Now, about what I would have liked my room (102) to have the very least - Ventilation in the bathroom is missing. It later became musty. Commode is there, but no butt-shower. Hot water from 6 a.m to 9 a.m only. These things did not bother me because I was there for a bigger purpose than just relaxation. And please note that Maheshwar is a village. It is not even close to urban, so everywhere it is the same situation. And luxury hotels are priced much higher. So, if you are looking for Tea Kettle, Toiletteries, room cleaning and fresh, crisp towels every day - please skip this hotel. There are a couple of luxury hotels available around. Anyway, you won't stay for more than 2 days in Maheshwar because there is not much to do. So, this hotel is not at all bad to spend 2 nights. It is near to Narmada, it is very safe and the owner is resourceful.

The hotel is decent for 1 night stay. I will not categorise it as a luxurious property but it is quite good for one night stay. It is very near to the ghats so we peacefully reached the ghats for evening arati and also explored the fort areas and the temples of Maheshwar by foot from the hotel. The host helped us a lot in planning our few hours' exploration in Maheshwar and also dropped us with our luggage in his scooty to the parking during a vehicle curfew.

Location is inside market, walking distance from fort and Narmada ghat. Approach road is congested during day hours but they are providing 4 wheeler parking. Room size is good enough for couple and kid. Room paint started coming off at places. Hot water with centralised geyser is struggle. Owner Vinay Saraf is helpful, courteous. He stays in same property. Staff was prompt in any help. The place is worth the money they are charging.

Hotel is very neet & clean location is best walking from narmada Ghat. Owner is very cooperative and overall we enjoy our stay in Hotel. Service staff is also very good.

Really best hotel... Room, cleaning, services are best, and best part is that. The hotel is walking distance from ghat... And in between the Banke bihari tredition food is too much best..

Please don't wish to the pictures as far as the location is concerned it is NOT close to the river like the pictures suggests. The pictures of amenities are horrible. Hot water is only available from 6 am to 9 am, period if you miss you are stuck using cold water for the rest of the day. The rooms have bugs- I actually had a bug bite me on my arm! The cleanliness of the room was sub par- we had to ask them to clean it. The bathroom shower doesn't work! The rooms are tiny most of which is taken by the bed with a little space around to move. And yes, no WiFi offered.

Very nice hotel within walking distance to Narmda ghat and Ahilya fort. Can find many shops to eat and shop Maheshwari saree. Nice clean rooms and bathrooms. Hotel has private parking. Owner Mr. Vinay Saraf is very considerate and allowed us to sit in reception area to feed our little son even though we had checked out of the hotel. Definitely a good place to stay if coming to Maheshwar.
