The location of this hotel is on main road from where ticket counter of Western Group Temple is just at 5 min walkable distance. The main market of Khajuraho is also 3-4 min walk from hotel.||||The hotel has parking facility for 4-5 cars. The owner of this hotel is polite, he tries to make sure that guests are comfortable. They have big rooms with attached balconies facing lake. They have running hot water 24x7. The hotel has basic amenities as per the price of rooms hence dont expect anything fancy here.||||The rooms are occupied with TV, fridge and cupboard. I would suggest to stay at this hotel if you are not a fan of HiFi hotels.

Young couple traveling by motorcycle. Arrived to Hotel Gautama in the morning with help from a staff member who flagged us down. We are traveling on a budget so my first question was how much is the room as always. $350, the cheapest room we have found in our travel and also the best! Hot water, a comfortable bed, TV in the room and that is the cheapest room. A great restaurant in the hotel, free wifi and and amazing view of the lake and Khajuraho temples. We were so impressed! Had to do a border run to Nepal and were able to leave our bike and one of our bags with the hotel, no cost, no problem. The hospitality was so amazing and such a breath of fresh air in a country full of people just after the extra dollar. Highly highly recommend this hotel to anyone!!
Stayed at the Hotel Gautama for 10 days and it felt as though I was staying chez moi. The room was large, comfortable and clean. Most importantly was it's situation as it has a fabulous view of Shiva Lake and the famous Khajuraho temples, being located infront of the lake itself in the heart of the town.||Room service 24hrs a day, daily cleaning service and the restaurant food delicious. The staff became like family and were polite and helpful at all times. Needless to say I would return to the same hotel on my future visits to Khajuraho. Five star service!||Mme Maria Hughes
We stayed in Hotel Gautama in Dec 2015 during our visit to Khajuraho. We chose it mainly because of its location. This hotel is in front of Shiv Sagar Lake near to Western Group of Temples. We decided to see Sound & Light Show in the western group of temples, so wanted to stay near it. ||||Both check in and check out from the hotel were smooth. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. The staff was also friendly. They had a clock room where we kept our luggage after check out without any cost. We didn't eat anything in this hotel so we cannot comment on the food served here. ||||Overall the stay was satisfactory
Need improvement in lot of areas. Has wheel chair accessible entrance. Big plus point is it takes just 3 minute walk to reach world's favourite Western Group of Temples Khajuraho. Hotel is two . But staff are really polite and helpful.
Nice and big hotel rooms, but services are like a dedicated dead fridge, free ka dth, ded intercom etc and the very bad thing is greedy staff .....
I stayed for one night on 30 Dec 2014.. No hot water in the room, no towels, no toilet paper, no soap, no shampoo. Broken head lamps, TV won't work properly, cracked window, wifi was there but the person on front desk won't tell me the password, no heater it was very cold. Bed sheet had big cigarette burn holes, I took pictures. I rather buy a blanket and sleep on the side walk then stay in this hotel.
We stayed at the Hotel Gautama for four nights when visiting Khajuraho on our trip around India. Khajuraho itself has a large number of guest houses and shoddy hotels and from what we saw, this hotel was the best choice, particularly on a budget.||||The staff were very friendly and keen to help. We had a bit of a disaster when we were unable to travel to Mumbai as our waitlisted tickets (ah the joys of Indian trains!) didn't come through. The owner of the hotel took time out from his other duties to arrange an alternative route to Mumbai for us which meant that we were able to stay on schedule. For us, this really was above and beyond the call of duty as by that stage we were faced with having to rearrange our entire trip. Thank you for all your help!
