Hotel Kalinga

It felt like an old hotel. Everything had that dusty smell. The food was good. But they charge exorbitant rates for it. A chicken fried rice costing 500 rupees is not acceptable. Also, outside food is not allowed. The menu in the room mentioned that room guests will have separate pricing. But they charged full. When asked about it, the receptionist showed a frowned face and ignored. What I disliked the most is the receptionists there. It feels like we interacting with them (checking in, checking out, enquiries, etc.) are like a huge burden on them. No pleasant greetings. Just uninterested and frustrated all the time.

I recently stayed for one night at Hotel Kalinga in Indore, and I must say my experience left much to be desired. The hotel offers basic amenities that you would expect from a budget establishment. However, the quality and the services provided do not justify the high price tags. The food and bar prices were exorbitantly high, with no correlation to the quality or taste. It felt like I was being charged premium prices for subpar offerings. The breakfast spread was very basic stuff. The front office staff was particularly rude and unhelpful. Any queries or requests I made were met with indifferent or outright dismissive responses. Their lack of professionalism significantly impacted my overall experience. We had extended the checkout time for 6 hours, by paying full price for the room (Except the breakfast cost), still we were given numerous follow-ups to vacate the room earlier than agreed time. In addition to the high prices and rude staff, the general atmosphere of the hotel was very dull and uninviting. I was expecting a more vibrant and welcoming environment but was thoroughly disappointed. Overall, I would not recommend Hotel Kalinga for anyone seeking a pleasant and relaxing stay in Indore. There are certainly better options available.

Rooms and service - Very good ! Location - 10/10 , everything including bus stops, malls, zoo, eateries are at closer proximity. Just one feedback - Toothbrush, tooth paste should be provided basic items

Location is great. Neat and clean premise. Manager Mr Jatinder and other staff were very cordial and polite. Room size is good. House keeping staff was very prompt on call.

I stayed at Hotel Kalinga with my family on 19th Apr 2025 where we had reserved a Superior Double Room. The property is well maintained and the rooms are comfortable and spacious. One of the key highlights of the hotel is its prime location. Situated in one of the most sought-after areas of Indore, the hotel provides easy access to several popular destinations. Whether you're looking to explore the bustling Sarafa Market, the vibrant Chappan Dukan food street, or indulge in shopping at nearby malls, everything is just a short distance away. Additionally, transportation is never a concern, as cabs and auto-rickshaws are readily available for convenient travel to these prominent local attractions.

The hotel management is a fraud. I booked a room with complementary breakfast on 21 dec. Since, we had to leave early for ujjain in the morning of 22 dec and the breakfast was till 10 am, so I raised a concern with them requesting them whether they will be offering a refund in event of not having the breakfast, to this, they said that your booking has been done by Goibibo, so we are unable to help. I instantly contacted goibibo and they said if the hotel property is ok with this, we don't have a problem and in that case, a refund of Rs. 400 would be provided. Goibibo also asked them to send a confirmation mail to this effect and they responded that they have sent so on 22 dec. Now, I got a call from Goibibo that the property is denying that such a thing has happened and they said Rs. 400 would be deducted from the food bills that we had in the hotel. Surprisingly, we did not had any food in the hotel, so how could we agree on anything which never existed. It is also surprising that this adjustment attained finality in the morning of 22 dec, till then we did not have any food in the hotel and we were not going to take the breakfast as well, so from which bill they were going to deduct the bill of Rs. 400/- or have deducted Rs. 400/- . Such an unprofessional behaviour by the hotel management for a meagre 400 rs. What a shame.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was extremely disappointed with the service at their restaurant. When we booked, we were informed that the restaurant would be open until 11:30 pm. Based on this information, we placed our order well before 11 pm. However, despite waiting for a response, we received none, and our order was never fulfilled. To make matters worse, around midnight, I received a message asking for feedback on the service, which we never even got to experience. It was frustrating and disappointing to be misled about the restaurant's availability and then be ignored after placing our order. This lack of communication and poor service is unacceptable, especially for a hotel that claims to offer quality hospitality. I hope this hotel takes this feedback seriously and improves their service standards, especially with respect to accurate information and reliable customer service.

We booked two deluxe rooms, each with an extra guests with additional charges, but the experience was extremely disappointing. We strongly advise against booking this hotel. Here's why: 1. Basic toiletries like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and towels were not provided--you had to request everything. 2. Only half a liter of bottled water was complimentary; additional bottles were charged. 3. While one room had an extra sofa cum bed, the other did not and was much smaller. One room had a fridge, while the other did not. The price they charge is not justified at all. Photos are attached for reference.
