Taj Usha Kiran Palace, Gwalior

Just back from an amazing stay at the Taj Usha Kiran Palace at Gwalior ! Right from the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty with the Dhol and other musical instruments playing while rose petals were being sprinkled. It transported us back to a golden time of the past. Mr Jeetu was outstanding with his city history stories while picking us up from the airport. Ms Yashasvi at the front desk was super efficient with the check in formalities and also with the very informative heritage walk in the evening. Mr Vivek and Ms Soumya were excellent at the silver saloon restaurant in taking care of us very well and also giving us great suggestions for local sightseeing. ||Ms Namrata was especially awesome with her service everyday and the local cuisine suggestions she gave. We really loved all of her recommendations. We are truly grateful to her for giving us such an unforgettable experience. ||||We are also very thankful to Ms Anjali and Mr Arun for such outstanding service everyday of our stay here. ||||A really big thank you to the impeccable housekeeping staff for being so thoughtful and attentive to the room requirements every day. ||||All in all we had a really memorable stay here and really hope to come back again sometime soon. ||||Thank you Taj for an amazingly awesome time !

Amazing stay in short. The staff very courteous. Food options customisable and good. Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Special mention for Saumya, Anjali and Abhishek. They were 24x7 there to cater to each demand. Made sure our elders have a good time. Pool amazing. Strongly recommend this place

This is one of the lesser talked about palace properties of Taj. The otherwise beautiful Usha Kiran Palace has been recently renovated and provides good comfort to its guests.||We received a royal welcome with flowers being showered over us and guards blaring the royal horn on our arrival. We were quickly taken to our rooms post the check-in formalities. I was travelling with my family and we received two identically sized suite rooms on the first floor, right next to each other. While my parent's room had windows facing the main garden and pool, my suite room lacked a clear window in the bedroom. The only window was in the cloak room which faced right outside the passage of my room. While the room itself was beautiful during the day, the large room seemed odd and depressing after dark due to the lack of any light coming from outside. This was not the case with my parent's room, where the decor and room structure was much more uplifting and beautiful.||Our dining experiences at the Silver Saloon were average at best. The service was fine, however the quality and taste of the food prepared was not up to Taj Palace standards.||The hotel is located close to the Jai Vilas Palace and it was very convenient for us to go and visit the royal palace of the Scindias. Overall, I had a comfortable stay, however, I have realised that the experience one has in this hotel would greatly depend on the type of room booked and allocated, as not all rooms are equally pleasant.

We had a lovely stay its a reflection of our great heritage and legacy. Soumya was great, very polite and ready to help. Amazing hospitality ,very polite very helpful .Excellent room service. The pillows are the fluffiest.. the staff was very cordial.

A proper heritage property, but lacks a touch of Taj Hospitality. Lacks a few things like 1. The Gps location is incorrect. It's hard to reach. 2. No proper direction signs inside the property like directions to the restaurant , rooms , reception , pool, etc. 3. Food is average although the breakfast was good. 4. Staff is not well trained. 5. Spa facility lacked maintenance, but the service was good.

Had a great time at Taj Usha Gwalior . It's a vintage property part of the Jai Vilas palace . Food here is excellent , our dinner was lovely and we were well Looked after by Sowmya from their restaurant team . Rooms are also very good . Overall a wonderful place to stay if you coming this side .

Best Located in the middle of city, Taj Usha Kiran Palace is good enough to stay and feel Royaleness of old infrastructure. But Usha Kiran is not maintaining the feel of a palace, especially TAJ Palace. Only rooms and internal corridors are maintained but outer galleries, gardens etc are too far away as with compared to other palaces of TAJ like TAJ Arravali, TAJ Mumbai, TAJ Falaknuma, TAJ Jai mahal, TAJ Umedh bhawan, Hari Mahal etc.|Even birds output are seen at various places at usha kiran, fountains were not running, Changing bathroom of pool (men's) water is going outside which is a big Engineering defect. Toilet faucet was also not working. At some places like nearby old pool things were dumped like 'kabaad'. Food quality and taste also not meeting the norms of TAJ. Thats why I complaint to manager of restaurant (Mr Vinay?) for all above things. However he tried and sorted food complaint and told me that Hotel Manager will discuss with me in regards to maintainance. But no one approached me, which shows the mentally of usha kiran.|Ok whatever but there was not a feel like Palace instead it's a good hotel in which all focused done at rooms and reception.

Family vacation which become very memorable and enjoyable due to the excellent ambience, food and service of Taj Usha Kiran.||Special mention to Yashashvi, Vivek, Namrata, Arun, Anjali, Soumya and Singh for the excellent service and going out of their way to make it a special holiday for my entire family.||Heritage Property having spacious well furnished room, beautiful gardens rich with peacocks and other birds. Property has a beautiful temple of Ganesh and Shiva.||Hotel is located close to all the major sightseeing places.||Do stay here for a great experience
