Sanskar Guest House

This guest house is located at a great point. The gwalior fort and all the main attractions of the city are just walking distance away from here. And rates are cheap. Just rooms could be better. Staff are helpful. I just faced one problem with the washroom water, that is so hot even during night too. Otherwise everything is good.

Room 201 offered a clean space with a stunning balcony view but was marred by non-functional amenities (geyser, TV) and a lack of nearby dining options. Guests had to bring their own food and tea, and assistance was only available after 12 PM. However, the presence of Ola options eased transportation worries. Overall, it is suitable for a quick stay before catching a flight.

It's a good option for staying. Rooms are good with a good atmosphere. Under budget

This is a three star review with a .5 for courteous staff. It was a short trip for 2 and half days so our only requirement was a good sleeping place with basic amenities. Pros of the place include - 1. Clean Water 2.AC available 3. Okay food 4. Big enough room (for 2 ppl) 5. Backup for blackouts 6. Easily accessible to major areas 7. Fort view in select rooms Cons - 1. It is located in the interiors of pvt residential areas 2. AC made a lot of noise while working in one of the rooms 3. Bathroom lights did not come back after a blackout 4. Staff is courteous but not really responsive 5. Rooms were not clean when we checked in. 6. No privacy in rooms..Sound travels easily from one room to the next. 7. Limited breakfast options 8. Water heater not working in one room's bathroom 9. Little ventilation in the room as windows don't open. 10. Quality and standard is not achieved with respect to cost It is alright to use this place if the trip is short and low budgeted. If one has time and leisure and wishes to have a relaxed stay, it is advisable to look for a separate place. Info - This is an OYO stay.

This hotel 3-4 kms from railway station... public transport available...or can book private auto. Hotel's room are in good condition... clean... hotel staff is helpful...for room service there is extra charge or you can take all these services because,this hotel is in public area. The hotel is at calm place. AC,TV, MINERAL WATER AND OTHER FACILITIES will be given.

Checked guesthouse accepted foreign reservations athough listed and booked on booking.com. As many hotels in Gwalior are for Indians only. They said everything was fine. When I arrived with a nonrefundable confirmed reservation, after coming from New Delhi, I caught them by surprise as they didnt seem to be expecting any guests that day! it was dead. there was litter and mess in the corridor and reception, and then I was told to wait while the owner was called on the telephone. He said OK to checkin and a copy of my passport was taken. Then he rang back and told me I had to complete a covid form. The guy at reception was going by motorbike to get the form and come back in about an hour, as they didnt have any forms at the guesthouse! when he finally returned I started to complete the form, then the owner rung again and said he had now been told foreigners cant checkin! I had a valid visa and had a confirmed non refundable reservation. They had a copy of my visa and passport and a form, but that was not good enough. Meanwhile they let me use the toilet in the bedroom while I was waiting. Then I was told I couldnt checkin and had to leave. It was late afternoon and had no reservation and I knew normally most hotels in Gwalior only accept Indians. Thats why I prebooked. Now had nowhere to stay, and reception just shrugged their shoulders. ||Wasted about 2 hours in all, I handed the key back, and they asked for the form and wanted me to pay for the soap as it had been opened! I said its not my fault you wont let me stay. I just walked out and they werent very happy! AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE NOT INDIAN AS THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CHECK FOREIGNERS IN.||I checked into the Hotel Landmark with no problems and checkin was processed within 5 minutes... so telling me foreigners couldnt stay in Gwalior was absolute rubbish.||Gwalior is a stunning place if you like an authentic bustling town with the stunning Gwalior fort and buildings. Probably some of the most beautiful and different fortifications etc I have ever seen, so definitely visit Gwalior, just avoid Sanskar guesthouse unless you are Indian.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Very spacious. Only 2.5 Kms from Railway Station. Indian Breakfast is available upon request. Fort view from Terrace is marvelous. Within budget this is a great place to stay.

Good hotel in Gwalior, our rooms were clean and had comfortable beds. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Beware of the auto rickshaw drivers at the railway station, on arrival at Sanskar Guest House our driver pulled up outside and we heard him say to a young boy at the doorway 'tell them you are double booked' Luckily I had our booking form and a payment receipt to hand.
