One of the most beautiful, exquisite, urbane properties I have ever visited and steeped in history going back to the Mughal era transitioning through the Maratha Empire and into modern times while retaining its charm and surreal sylvan surroundings intact. The food, confectionery, cakes, teas and beverages elicit a most wonderful nostalgia of colonial culinary exquisiteness combined with the convivial company of the owners and hosts. The architecture with temples, chattris and other structures complement the manicured lawns and magnificent, mature trees and rich, verdant flower beds. This place is the very epitome to me of Serendipity.

Exceptional place. A historical palace that retains its original charm and energy due to the love and care imparted by the owner. Surprised at some negative reviews. Remarkable property with extensive open area intermixed with historical temples and structures. Rooms are clean and full of character. All necessities are provided including electric kettle. The staff serve from the heart and service is exceptional along with food quality.
Its a positive energy with lot of angels. Rooms have royal look. Service and food is awesome. Only thing is that I was scared of lizards which are lots. However, I loved nature, peacocks, mongoose, squirrels, various birds. Highly recommend if you are nature lover.
So a very dishonest hotel I'm afraid and that is a basic entry level: to be honest with your guests or in this case one who canceled his booking through booking.com and received the confirmation that I would get a full refund as it was done in due time in the correct way. And then found the hotel simply refused to either make the refund or even answer any emails until booking.com had to force them to finally make a refund. And then not even an apology. I've travelled all around the world and used booking.com a great deal and other hotels and this is the first time I've ever had an example of such egregious dishonest behavior from any hotel. Particularly as it's easy to miss refunds that are supposed to be made in this way and should just happen automatically and perhaps the hotel relies on this. avoid at all costs.. as those might be considerable! There are plenty of other alternatives in Gwalior area which are meant to be better anyway.
We had a delightful experience at the Deobagh. Our room was very comfortable and whatever we ate was like home food simple but delicious .The bathrooms need a bit of upgrade with more hooks and a hand ahower .Otherwise all in all a great experience and definitely a go to place
This hotel is really superb, very calm and peaceful, in addition to the private temples, extraordinarily well preserved and maintained. A big thank you to Sanidsh Sharm who showed us around the site.
