Hotel Sonchiraiya

I ordered fruit chaat for my sick mother as I was not in shivpuri , they gave only apples and papaya for 168 Rs /- when I called them they are not responding . This is how you treat ur customer even after giving so many instructions that please mam please keep fresh fruits it is for a patient

Very bad rooms.there is building work going on at the moment. The floor of the room and the fixtures and fitting are all tired,faded

This Hotel is very conveniently located on the circular road near to Madhav chowk with market very close by. It has ample parking area and has a Hall on first floor for Birthday/Kitty parties or Family/Friends Get Togethers. We had booked a Super Deluxe room here and found it quite big in size. There was Electric Kettle with Tea / coffee /sugar/milk powder pouches , a LED T.V.,A mini Fridge, An Electronic Locker, Air conditioner in the room. However amazingly we found Termite ( Deemak ) running very conspicuously on one wall which indicates that pest control was needed . The Sofas in the room had torn upholstery and in fact the wood below pricked on one side when one sat. The sofas need replacement for sure. The T.V. in the room did not relay channels and after a lot of pursuance resulting in visits by many persons/Technicians, the channels surfaced on screen but after a few hours when it started raining they again vanished. But the thing which infuriated us more was a Transparent Glass Window near the Double Bed which was on the wall of the Bath area of the wash room. It had a thin curtain provided on inside but with the wash room lights on, anyone bathing inside was clearly visible from the Bed . What a weird design !! May be such an arrangement can click in a Honeymoon cottage but otherwise here it can be an embarrassment if say a Father -Daughter or Mother-Son or Girl with her in-laws happened to stay.|On the brighter side, the service was good and the staff courteous including the reception desk. The Food at the Swad restaurant was also Tasty. The complimentary breakfast had limited items but was OK - we were offered Poha, Poori-Sabzi, Veg Sandwitches, Tea, Bananas & Papita in the breakfast. There was facility for Driver stay too which was a good feature. Rates in the restaurant were modest. Rooms were reasonably priced too.|

Nice property , ample space for parking and they have elegant furniture,well decorated hall at The Swad Restaurant, place of nice ambience but it seems understaffed as no one is there to give menu card for 15-20 minutes. They denied serving lunch at 2 PM (during lunch hours) and serving food on the other table :( Snacks were average but if you are going to restaurant during lunch hours and only snacks are offered than it disappoints. Card payments are not available.

The saying best out of worst come true here. Not having bad feelings for hotel but for the town, being city of Lord Shiva no Good Hotel to stay in the town. But Sonchiraiya is the better than others I explored. Rooms are big enough for single, double and family occupancy. Rates are also not that high. Moderately expensive. I would give 4.5 stars to food, 4stars to service and 4 stars to hospitality. Breakfast is not complementary here so prepare the mind for breakfast.
