The Oberoi Vindhyavilas Wildlife Resort, Bandhavgarh

When we received the promotional emails from Oberoi regarding their new safari hotel in Bandhavgarh, we promptly made plans to visit. We visited in the month of March when the hotel had just opened its doors to its guests. Google maps led us to the hotel through a route that went through a village but we later found out that the property can be accessed from the main road itself.||We received a very warm welcome and were presented with welcome drinks at their lounge. They do not have a formal reception desk; instead, they conduct all the formalities in the room itself, like in most other Oberoi properties. We were welcomed by the GM, Mr. Vikas, who spoke to us about his newly built property. I was taken to my room by Mr. Kushagra, who I interacted with during the entirety of my stay, and who was very helpful.||My tent was very spacious and comfortable. These tents provide all the comfort of a traditional luxury room with the feel of a tent. The washroom was large and the showers after the game drives were very comfortable. The housekeeping team ensured that the tents were devoid of any insects or reptiles during my stay.||Food was served at the dining room or in the tents, as per the convenience of their guests. The dining room had a menu that changed every day, so I got to try new delicacies everyday. The food was excellent, and the service, even better. We were mostly waited on by Mr. Neha and Mr. Sonu at the restaurant, who took very good care of us.||Since we had made our bookings not many days in advance, we were not able to get Safari bookings from the MP official website, and had to instead book core safaris through an external agent. Upon arrival, the GM informed us that Oberoi had procured licenses to ply their own modified luxury safari vehicles for game drives, and that they had also come to an agreement with the forest department, whereby they could possibly arrange safaris for guests on a short notice. Mr. Vikas was kind enough to arrange one such safari for us where we were accompanied by the wonderful hotel naturalist, Ms. Suryanshi, who managed to scout the most tigers during our stay in a single safari.||The spa was not operational during our stay, however the hotel managed to give my mother a therapy in the private sit out of her tent. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay and was happy to experience the Oberoi hospitality in a new setting. Mr. Vikas and his team are doing a phenomenal job creating memorable stays for guests, and I look forward to visiting this property soon.

The vindhyachal Forest resort is right close to the forest of Bandhogarh. It is a big well maintained property with tents scattered around. The tents are luxurious and well appointed to give feel of jungles but with all the luxury you are used to. |The food offered is a blend of Indian and western cuisines. The staff very well trained to look after all needs of the guests. Would like to mention Miss Neha who really helps you to be comfortable and meets all your requirements. The GM and the staff including chef was fully dedicated to service of guests. |The way the staff bids you farewell after the stay was touching and never experienced before. |The Tala gate forest is best. Try going here for ultimate experience of tiger watching.

Amazing - ||Airport pickup slick - driver and vehicle was up-to the usual Oberoi standards. The much needed pack lunch was fabulous for the long drive to the resort. ||Resort - Good to see the break of the cookie cutter approach for the villas brand a lodge instead of reception was unique. Rooms were wonderful and we can't wait to try the pool villas once open.||Food - Kudos to Neha and the Chefs for ensuring food quality and availability in this remote location. A little restaurant reconfiguration and bbq offerings would work well in this setting. Menus were varied and breakfast was solid. High tea was a little lacklustre and perhaps this could be reworked. ||Service - From the whole team Vikas has done exceptionally well in ensuring a faultless stay. All staff seemed genuinely interested in our stay and suggestions.||Tiger Spotting - The Naturalists were amazing ensuring we spotted the tigers, the wildlife walk was insightful and the talk in the library over a drink was delightful. ||Overall a fantastic resort and the best address in Bandhavgarh can't wait to revisit...

The hotel itself is beautiful in fact elegant. All of the staff are fantastic. The chief is a culinary genius. The vehicles that the hotel uses for its tiger safaris is the most comfortable we have ever been in for safaris. The guides are very professional. We waited for this hotel to be open before we came for the tiger experience. We were smart to wait and you will be smart to stay here.

Oberoi Vindhyavilas truly lives up to the legendary Oberoi standards of hospitality--where every moment feels curated with care, warmth, and elegance. The staff, ever-smiling and always helpful, exemplify what it means to offer service from the heart; it would be an injustice to single out just one, as each member contributes to the seamless experience. The property itself is an immersive escape--an exquisite blend of luxury and nature--with stunningly landscaped areas, giving the Bandhavgarh vibe, that are as serene as they are spectacular. The safari experience was nothing short of magical, and touch wood, we were blessed to witness an entire family of tigers in their natural habitat--a memory that will last a lifetime. It was the perfect icing on an already extraordinary cake. A stay here doesn't just pamper you--it inspires you.

We stayed at the resort recently and what a beautiful resort this is. But what makes it even more wonderful is the true Oberoi experience where the staff leave no stone unturned to create a wonderful experience. Kushagra, Neha, Shiksha, Vikram, Lokesh, the HK team, Suryanshi the naturalist all of them went above and beyond to make our experience very memorable. We felt like royalty throughout the stay. Would highly recommend to everyone planning to visit Bandhavgarh.

Right at the top in terms of the service we've got in all our trips we've taken so far. ||While new, the property felt like home the minute we reached the airport.||The property is excellent - 21 private luxurious tents & an extremely tailored & exclusive experience. Private gardens in all the tents! Fitness Centre, Pool, Spa & a lot of other in-hotel experiences. ||Overall - Vikas (the GM), Roshan (Front-Office Manager) and the rest of the team were excellent in ensuring we had a very pleasant stay. I don't think I've still been to a property where the GM has taken so much personal interest in ensuring he knew everything about his guests. Even though we booked last minute, Vikas, Roshan & the team (Rohini & others) ensured we got to go on lovely safaris. In fact - we loved how welcoming they made my kids feel (we were celebrating my son's birthday) and we also were heartened to see how everyone in their team checked on my daughter's needs when she felt sick. ||Airport Transfers - Rambhagat and Lala were amazing and had a lot of information about Bandhavgarh that they shared with us. ||Food & Restaurant Service - Led by Chef Sachin - the food we ate for every meal and the safari was delicious. The burrata flat bread sandwich was divine. Chef Sachin & his team did a wonderful job on ensuring our meal preferences and the kids meals special preferences were well taken care off. In fact, he engaged us before and after every meal and we had a great chat with him before our departure. ||Neha, Lokesh, Kumardeep & a lot of the other restaurant servers (who's names i unfortunately didn't catch) did a great job in ensuring all our needs were met. They remembered our preference for water temperature & bread baskets across days and ensured we got what we needed when we sat on the table. A special mention to our friend Chef Stephan from Trident / Oberoi mumbai who ensured he spoke to Chef Sachin about us prior to our arrival and made our stay comfortable. ||Safari - Soulin the naturalist was excellent! His knowledge about the park, the animals, birds & fauna was beyond abundant and he was able to engage my family & me across 20 hours of safari time - trust me my kids can ask a lot of questions. I don't think we'd be able to enjoy the experience without him. Highly recommend!! He also took lovely photos of everything we saw so we could just observe and learn from the animals and their behaviour. ||The drivers - Tilak, Rambhagat & guides - Naren & Mukesh were good as well. While we didn't get to go on a safari with Suryanshi - she was welcoming the day we reached and shared her knowledge about the park with us. And the jeeps - they were far better than the other jeeps we saw in the park in terms of comfort and drive - there is no comparison. Our full-day safari was comfortable thanks to the modified Mahindra scorpios the hotel has commissioned.||Housekeeping & Facilities were amazing - the team did a great job keeping our room & needs well met. I don't think we've had to call for anything extra (which in most hotels we need to) - since everything we needed was available in the room. The goodies they gave my children at checkout made them extremely happy when we left.

The Bandhavgarh National Park is a well known tiger haven, and there's no better way than the Oberoi way to experience the diversity of flora and fauna present in the region. Beginning from the rich flora and bird life at the Vindhyavilas itself, to the cocktail hour wildlife presentations, the "bush dinner", the sleek safari vehicles and knowledgeable naturalists. We sighted 3 tigers across 3 safaris, and had many close calls as well. The night safari was an incredible and thrilling experience! The entire experience would be incomplete without a mention of the personalized bonnet breakfasts for each guest, all of which in my opinion truly makes for the most luxe safari experience in the country!
