The Indian Bucket List

The Indian Bucket List : SELECT & PREFERRED HOTEL Review of Alipura Palace Hotel, Alipura, Madhya Pradesh Alipura Palace Hotel is a majestic retreat that offers an authentic blend of heritage, warmth, and hospitality, making it an unforgettable experience for anyone visiting Bundelkhand. The grand heritage building of Alipura Palace is steeped in history and charm. Its regal architecture, with intricately carved interiors and a timeless ambiance, transports you to the days of royal splendor. The rooms are tastefully appointed, equipped with air conditioners and en-suite bathrooms, ensuring modern comfort while retaining a sense of old-world elegance. The dining experience is equally delightful. The dining room is a stately space where meals are served with care. The highlight, of course, is the delectable Bundelkhandi traditional dishes, which reflect the rich culinary heritage of the region. The food is fresh, flavorful, and truly a treat for the senses. One of the standout aspects of Alipura Palace is the personal attention extended by the Royal Family. Rao Bahadur Raja Saheb Manvendra Singh ji, Rani Saheb Brijraj Kumari, Yuvraj Saheb Kamakhya Pratap Singh, and Yuvrani Saheb Mriganka Kumari personally look after their guests, making everyone feel like an honored visitor in their home. This level of hospitality adds unparalleled warmth and charm to the stay. Special appreciation goes to Man Singh, a staff member who is always ready to assist with a smile, ensuring that every need is met seamlessly. The property also offers private parking space, a thoughtful amenity that ensures convenience for travelers arriving by car. Alipura Palace Hotel is more than just a stay; it's an experience of living history, gracious hospitality, and cultural immersion. It's a place where you not only explore Bundelkhand's heritage but also feel a part of it, thanks to the royal family and their exceptional team. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an enriching and memorable stay in Alipura!

Excellent stay in an amazing heritage property. Staff were friendly and the surrounding town was lovely with very friendly locals. Food in the hotel was good and staff accommodated all requests. Room was very spacious with good amenities.

This is a charming hotel set in a village of 40,000 people rather off the beaten path. The hotel portion is maintained but sections are in decay. My room was spacious and clean. The hot water in my bathroom only trickled out and there was some mold on the walls. The serve meals in their restaurant on premise which is good since there are no nearby options. The historical architecture of the palace is impressive and the pictures on the walls are worth looking at. Religious chats on speakers go off at 5:15 in the morning in the village. It is worth a stay if you are in the area.

This is not a typical hotel. Living in an ancient palace is an experience. Everything is not perfect but the experience is worth it. The rooms are old but very clean and confortable. It is very calm et not noisy. When our group came back at the same time, the palace lost its electricity and hot water. Not for long ! It was Ok. The food is great and service is good. There is a nice view from the terrace on the top of teh palace, it was a great place to take a drink. I recommend strongly to stop there. Walk around the palace and live the joy of walking in the small Alipura city.

A small section of this old palace has been restored as a hotel. From a distance one could easily mistake the building for being abandoned. Rooms are simple, but ours was spacious, comfortable, and clean. We stayed there at the end of January and the room was a bit chilly at nighttime, there were heavy blankets on the bed, but no space heater. Lots of hot water though. The village is sweet; small and friendly.

What an experience! The rooms, the hospitality, the food, the quiet terrace at night, the friendly village and the especially warm, attentive staff - everything was simple yet excellent. It was a good break from the regular touristy places. Each and every member of Alipura Palace made us feel special.

Only a small section of this huge palace has been restored..... it has echoes of the Best Exotic Marigold hotel. The rooms and ensuites are huge and are equipped with both air conditioning and fans. The roof top terrace is nice and cool of an evening. The in-house restaurant serves excellent food.

Awesome hotel , former maharaja's palace (300 years old palace). Has own charm. Still under construction/renovation. Hot water heaters in every room, faucets in some rooms are too old and stuck. Nice kitchen/restaurant. Located in a village with very friendly people. They really love to see foreigners.
