The Gawaling Ladakh

Stayed at The Gawaling in Leh towards the end of March 2025 and had a great experience. We had two rooms--both were excellent, with heated floors and centralised HVAC, which made the stay very comfortable despite the cold. The views from the rooms were stunning. The food was also impressive; both the buffet and a la carte options were consistently good. Highly recommend this place for a comfortable and scenic stay in Leh!

Staff was very polite and helpful in every possible way. Shubham, the manager has been very cooperative from the time I booked the hotel till our check out... was always available to answer our queries patiently.... A big thank you to the Gawaling team for making our stay safe and comfortable

This hotel is well situated, above Leh, in a quiet location. ||The hotel us spacious and attractively decorated. Staff are professional, but not welcoming. The lobby, surely the heart of any hotel, is freezing cold in November, with no heating, making it a very unwelcoming place to sit.||The dining room is spacious and again, attractively decorated. There are plenty of options for food, but significant omissions make it hard for international travellers: no hot water for drinks, only hot milk, so a cup of coffee has to be requested and only cheap powdered coffee is available.||Curries and Dals are tasty, but hot milk with breakfast cereals? Buttar, served in a bowl, is either liquid or frozen lumps. How much thought does it take?||Service in the restaurant is generally accompanied by a scowl. ||Moving onto bedrooms, there are lifts and stairs for access. ||Rooms are spacious and welcoming with comfortable beds. The effect is only spoiled by stupid oversights in the bathrooms where seemingly all showerheads are broken and gush water around the place, flooding floors. ||Other oversights multiple rooms include toilet seats that simply want to tightening into position and a lack of flat surfaces to put down something like a wash bag. ||The biggest problem with the bedrooms however is external: packs of dogs seemingly roam the area, barking all night. Despite the best efforts of the double glazing, it can be very hard to get any sleep. ||A few simple actions could make this hotel a really great amenity. Bar the showers, it's not about money, but willingness and attitude.

We recently stayed in Hotel Gawaling, we experienced the best hospitality and not to forget their amazing buffet food, big shout out to the chef for feeding us with delicious food. And the staff here were very polite. Rooms were well maintained and very clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for good stay in Leh

I had an amazing experience during my stay at Gawaling Ladakh Hotel in Leh. From the moment I arrived, I felt truly welcomed. Ashwin and his team went above and beyond to make my stay special. He even upgraded the room for me and my friends, which was a lovely gesture. The hospitality was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious. We celebrated a friend's birthday during our stay, and it was a memorable experience thanks to the attentive team. The hotel's location in the heart of the city is perfect, and its infrastructure is beautiful. It's also very reasonably priced, making it a fantastic choice for anyone visiting Leh. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and appreciate the effort of the entire team for making my stay so memorable. A big thank you to Ashwin and everyone at Gawaling Ladakh Hotel. Inshallah, I'll definitely return with my family in the future. Highly recommended!

This is the best hotel I ever visited. Best stay in my life with family. The staff and management care and hospitality is marvellous and speechless. Me ,my wife and daughter 2 yrs old were sick with hight altitude. We had a several breathing problems. But the kitchen department and reception department. They care us like a family. Best staff. They provide oxygen and medicine time to time. And kitchen provide everything what we need. Everyone did special care to us. Food is awesome. Ambience is awesome. They have everything what we neeed. Better to stay here anyone when they visit to Leh Ladakh. But don't visit Indus Valley Resort in Leh. Worst people and hotel. I don't recommend indus valley resort. Thank you
