Amazing place to stay with highly professional staffs. Ambience of the place is fantastic. You can view mountains etc from lobby. Food was excellent and servers are very polite and accommodating your requests. Manager Sujit was so helpful to each guest. His attention to facility were very impressive. I certainly recommend this place and would love to come back.

We stayed three nights at Hotel Thongsal which by the way means "Great View" in Ladakhi language. The hotel and kitchen staff is extremely friendly. Food was great; there is non vegetarian option too. The view of Shanti Stupa and the mountain peaks of Hemis was awesome. The main market is walkable but it takes a good 20 to 30 minutes depending on your pace. Going to the main market is all downhill and it was enjoyable; returning is an uphill task. Cabs are available for the return journey and they charge Rs. 300 per cab. Overall a very pleasant stay experience.

We used this hotel as our base in Leh while travelling in the Ladakh region for 9 days. The staff in this hotel is extremely helpful and pleasant. They welcomed us with complimentary Kawah, very yum. My grandma was travelling with me, and the guys at the reception were so kind when she needed anything. Rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and clean. They have really common nice seating areas on the ground and first floor, and these are lovely sun traps to sit in on cold days. The breakfast and dinner are good. Wifi is iffy - excellent connectivity on some days and none on other days - but that is the situation all over Ladakh. Take your books with you, or just sit and stare about - the common area offers views of Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace!

Rooms are a bit old fashioned, but pretty decent for the mountains. Their service was also good, and the buffet food was also quite tasty. They mostly repeated breakfast menu but the number if items were decent. Good and polite staff

The only good thing about this hotel is, Its Manager Sujit and his team - which is really complimenting substandard quality of Hotel. Hotel area and room are well planned only thing is missing is renovation or upgradation of it. Breakfast is not upto the mark at all, dinner is still tolerable. Inside foods are too expensive so in case you want to have drinking water, aerated drinks etc please bring it from outside its too expensive inside.

Value for money. All the staffs were very courteous. Food were tasty. I would recommend Thongsal to others. Just one suggestion - please keep a dressing table or mirror in the room. Cant go to bathroom everytime to use mirror.

We visited Leh during the last week of June. Our first stay at Leh was terrible due to sudden change to extreme cold and high altitude. While returning from Pangong, we were upgraded to this hotel. I must say it was well located and the rooms were spacious. We could finally get a nice sleep during our trip with the room heater along the wall kept us warm. The hotel has plenty open spaces and a wi-fi too (though connectivity only near reception area). Breakfast was good and dinner was decent.
