Hotel The White Yak Leh Ladakh

Very good hotel for family stay in Leh city. Food very delicious and genuine price specially Tea. Subhash and naveen very good and helpful person. Room very clean.

I am from Bangalore & stayed in this hotel in the month of January (2023) for Chadar trek. It was really good. The hotel manager, supporting staff are friendly & they behave so well. Very co-operative with everyone. The hotel price is reasonable & worthy. Rooms are in a good condition with electric thermal blankets. Cleanliness maintained well all over. Their service is appreciable as they provide hot water to rooms, food in dining area on time. The hotel is situated very near to the market (10 mins walk). Totally they manage everything so well in minus degree temperature. As we were from south India & never experienced -10 to -20 temperature, they were kind enough & took care of us with lot of patience. My return flight got cancelled a day before the departure but the manager was very kind enough to understand the situation & didn't overcharge. Thanks a lot to such a well behaving guy (manager) & everyone. Kudos to whole team. Truly it was a pleasure stay for us.

While finding a Hotel, you have to see the behavior of staff and the host first! Mr. Subhash and his staff at The White Yak are so warm to their clients that it doubles the pleasure of staying in this small yet beautiful property. Rooms were big and neat. Hygiene was maintained throughout. Room service was equally good. Beds and linens we're neat and clean. Food was of top grade. I believe this was the best part of our stay. Kudos to team The White Yak for their overall service. I look forward to visit them again in my future Ladakh visits!

My experience (may 2024) was amazing! It was perfect. Got a booking here which was included in the tour package. This is a family friendly place. We recieved a warm welcome, followed by a debriefing about how to take it slow on the first day and get acclimatize. ROOM The rooms are big and clean. My room had a queen bed, along with a single bed. The bathroom is clean and big enough. Only problem I faced here is that the water was hard. They provide hot water in the morning and evening, from 6 to 11. The rooms have amazing view! I've attached a picture. The lobby has a nice cozy setting with a books shelf and sofa. You can sit there and relax. SERVICES It comes with services- TV,water kettle, coffee and tea kits, an electric warmer blanket for the bed. Wifi is also available. LOCATION Very close to the airport, about 10 mins by car. This hotel is a 10 minute walk away from the main Leh market. All necessary shops are available at walking distance- grocery, pharmacy, tour travels. Dragon supermarket is just opposite to this hotel and bike rental is also next to the hotel. FOOD They provide food too. Food is buffet style along with a la carte. Food was good, homely. Not too spicy. The buffet has plenty of options for eg. Breakfast buffet had- tea, coffee, bread with toaster, jam, butter, omlette, poori, aaloo subzi, poha etc. The food is north style. The staff is super friendly, starting from the front desk to the helpers. In total, this place was hassle free and fair. It is reasonable and meets all the requirements. If I come to Leh again, I'd stay here. Few tips for Leh Ladhak trip- ( according to May weather) - connection! Airtel and jio works. Best if you have both, bc one works in some places and other in some places. -Keep sipping water, your mouth will get dry very often. Drink normal water instead of hot water except if you have sore throat. -Carry good moisturizer and lipbalms. - sunscreen, caps, sunglasses, umbrella is a must. The sun will be very harsh. You will feel very cold in mornings and evenings, in shade and very hot in sun. - cover your head, ears and feet. - comfortable shoes and warm socks will be your friend for the trip. Hiking shoes are best as they will support you in snow, rocky terrain, sand etc. all of which you'll encounter during your trip in Ladhak.

Avoid if you don't want to spoil your stay in Leh. A worst hotel in Leh. The manager in the hotel is extremely arrogant and disrespectful. He started yelling at one of my friends for some silly reason. We could not do anything as we had already paid the money. At the end we had to call the police as he tried to attack one of the other member from the group.

The hotel is good but the rooms are not so good and quite old. Breakfast is bad and only 1-2 items and that too gets over and you have to wait and they will prepare again and serve you. The main USP is the location, it's just walkable distant from Leh Main market. Just opposite there is a super-mart. Restaurant and cafes are just beside the hotel. The bike hiring agencies are just walking distance.

I must advice families to stay here. One of the best hotels in Leh. Best part is that the owner keeps an eye on all the things and really knows how to respect customers. This is something I am sure all customers look for the very first thing. My trip was completely planned by the hotel and was one of the smoothest trip that I have ever had so far. Food and service was awesome. Clean room and amenities let you feel like home. Staff is polite and treats you like a family. I wish the staff and the owner all the very best!! Tourists can definitely count on The Whote Yak!!!
