The Grand Dragon Ladakh

The Golden Dragon is the perfect place to stay in Leh. The location is perfect....just 5 mins walk from the market area. The property is wonderful, rooms are large and very well appointed....very clean with all the luxuries of a good hotel room. I must say that the toilets were very clean and stacked with very good toiletries. Was very thoughtful to have sun screen and lip bam in the rooms.|The service in the hotel is top notch....from the reception to the staff at the restaurant. Special mention for Rajinder and Basu who took special care of us during our stay. Chef Punia runs an efficient kitchen and they dish out great food. Don't forget to order the Vegetarian Thukpa....just awesome. There is plenty of choice and very well prepared food. |While the tariff maybe on the higher side, you get great service and superb hospitality. |A must stay when in Leh

Right from the time we stepped, in the experience began. We were invited in and garlanded with a scarf by a local Ladakh woman as per their custom. Then they insisted that we sit down and have choice of beverage and some local goodies. After they only they asked for passports so that they can complete the paper work. ||Later that afternoon we went to the tea room with magnificent view and had great snacks.and tea. ||Dinner was another grand deal. There is so much variety and choice . You will need four stomachs ( like cow ) even to taste all of them. The service in the dining hall is unlike any others I have seen and I have seen my share of the four and five stars. The servers are so attentive and provide suggestions for the next course. Hussain was our prime waiter for the table and he is awesome. On our first night he recommended Garlic soup as that will help with the altitude acclimatization. He got it made specifically for us even though it was not part of the offering, It is the small details at the next few days breakfasts and dinner that showed that Hussain is great at taking care of customers. |Another one I want to call out is Mahesh the Chef who makes Indian chaat, Bhel puri etc. He has a smile on his face all the time and he makes excellent snack items. ||Lastly, I want to commend the owner and management for giving the staff a free hand in little decisions and keeping the customer happy. It is a trend that is hardly seen in any industry these days leave alone a hospitality industry. ||Thanks for making our stay memorable

Absolutely fabulous!!! They've thought of all the details. The rooms are super comfortable. The bed is great, the shower welcome after rough treks in the snow. the lip balm and sunscreen let you know someone put effort into planning for you. The hotel has stunning views of the mountains and is just absolutely perfect. The food is excellent and the tea is comforting and delicious. ||The BEST thing about this property is the staff. Every single person from reception to those who helped us with bags, to the brilliant restaurant personnel, were so on point. Pre tempting what we needed, warm without being intrusive. Gagan and the other staff and especially the wonderful Jasen who was attentive and just understood hospitality. ||Best hotel in India I'd like to say!

A special shoutout to Ramjan, who meticulously operated our entire tour. He took care of every single detail -- from ensuring we had snacks handy to providing an oxygen cylinder when needed -- all without us even having to ask. His attention to every small comfort truly made our trip smooth and worry-free.||A big thanks to Javed, our amazing driver and companion from Day 1 till the last day. He not only drove us safely through the stunning landscapes of Ladakh but was also continuously in touch with the base team to make sure we were always on schedule and comfortable. He would always ask about our preferences and adjust accordingly, making every journey feel personal and special.||Deshraj and his team at the hotel truly deserve all the praise. Their hospitality was extraordinary, and honestly, words aren't enough. From the very first day when they served us delicious garlic soup to help us acclimatize to the altitude, we felt their genuine care.||The food deserves a special mention -- it was not just tasty, but also incredibly healthy, wholesome, and comforting, just like home-cooked meals. Every dish was prepared with such love and authenticity, whether it was North Indian or South Indian cuisine -- the flavors were real and satisfying. After a long day of sightseeing and adventure, coming back to our own hotel restaurant felt like returning home -- a place where you could truly relax, unwind, and nourish yourself.||They went out of their way to pamper our kids with pancakes, pastries, pasta, and the smoothest smoothies -- always surprising them with something special. Great hotel ambience with an interior that reflects the culture and landscape. The staff was extremely cordial and helpful all along despite the harsh weather conditions.|The food was served with warmth and it was also pretty tastier. The restaurant manager and staff were very well accustomed to serving and meeting the needs of the guests. |Special mention of Mr Ramzan was facilitating the stay and enabling services. |Also Mr Amit in the restaurant gave the best possible service.|Wonderful staff, much appreciated!

I have visited for three days in this hotel with my friends and we found the hospitality is top notch and the restaurant team ( Vijay,Amit, Jatin ,Rahul) cooperative and humble . And Chef Deshraj and Chef Neeraj is make sure all the tables guests were having their proper meal and took feedback also. The buffet spread is huge and tasty as well.

A 5-Star Hotel That Truly Cares My family and I recently stayed at The Grand Dragon Ladakh for 3 days, and I can confidently say this was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had, far exceeding any 5-star standard. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. On our first day, I experienced a fainting episode due to the high altitude. The response from the hotel team was immediate and professional. Within moments, they arranged transport and accompanied me to the local ER for assessment. Their attention and care during this time were nothing short of exceptional. They followed up constantly to check on my condition and ensure that I was recovering comfortably, even offering special arrangements to help with my acclimatization. The level of care and personalized service we received was beyond my expectations and surpassed anything I have experienced in hotels around the world. The hotel's attention to detail, combined with their warm hospitality, made this stay truly unforgettable.
