This is an apartment converted into a hostel. The first twin room is right at the entrance door, with windows facing the courtyard. It's usually quiet there, but any guest coming in or out will be heard. The city view is nice at night. |Further down the hallway is the dorm room, to the right is the kitchen, toilet, bath, and next to it another twin room. Its windows face the road, the busy Chuy Avenue, and you can see the mountains on a sunny day. It's noisier, but with the window closed at night it's quiet. You might hear the kitchen activity and every toilet flush here as well. In fact, toilet tank refillis is heard from any room. At some point you get accustomed and don't pay the attention anymore, but in the beginning it may be disturbing. |I am sensitive to light, and didn't have any problems with that. I have stayed in both twin rooms. The curtains are not black-out, but dark and it was comfortable to sleep even during the day with the curtains closed. Take a dark pareo to cover the room door, too. The doors are glass and let in light from the hallway, if switched on.|The owners are nice, and so is the lady administrator. I have spent about 8 nights in the hostel, guests changed, but the atmosphere was always pleasant, homelike. |For smoking, I went out to the staircase - stood on the floor at an open window. |The location is great. There are supermarkets and shopping centers nearby, a 24-hour dining room, public transport stops. If you plan to go on daily tours with KG Country company, it's very convenient - their meeting point is just a 15-minute walk from the hostel. For Kettik KG, their meeting point is a 25-minute walk.|In short, everything is convenient. The beds are comfortable, the rooms have heaters, hangers, air conditioning, a desk suitable for working or as shelves) It might be a bit cramped for two in a twin room, but very comfortable for one. |The hostel has an ironing board, a washing machine, a fridge, a microwave, a kettle, etc. We take off shoes at the entrance and leave them on the rack. We keep it clean)|The water was always hot, with good pressure. ||As for wishes - to add more plates. There is a lack of ordinary plates to warm up food in the microwave, saucers, bowls. |But overall, it's a good hostel for the money. When I go to Bishkek again, I'll stay there again! Thank you, Svetlana, Nina, Almaz!|p.s. dear Almaz, please update the instruction how to find a hostel. It is outdated, and I had issues finding it.

It's not really a hostel but a shared apartment. Some pluses and minuses. Pluses are it's quiet and well hidden, it's clean the location is central. Minuses are really hard to find, it's inside an anonymous housing block, there is no hostel atmosphere, there are no usual hostel perks like luggage storage, or a late check out if there is evening travel. I cant really recommend it for travellers, maybe for a long term stay only
I've always wanted to see the inside of one of those old Soviet apartment blocks and this proved that opportunity in Bishkek. It is billed as a hostel, but it is more like a hared air bnb. Ahead of time I was messaged with impeccable instructions about how to find the entry and gain access with a passcode. It is easy to find; just follow the instructions.||||Inside I was met by the son of the owner (he speaks English; his mother does not). I had the pink room with Lenin's photo. It was very cute. The bathroom, kitchen, and toilet are shared. There is no common area per se, but there is a seating area in the kitchen around a table.||||Everything was just fine and I was happy. The wifi was excelled, there was hot water, and I made coffee in the morning. The location is very good. It is close to a ton of restaurants and shops and on a busy street with lots of transport. I walked everywhere from the hostel, including to Ash Bazaar and all the museums. ||||It had history, some charm, and the price was right. I would stay again.
Stayed with friends in this hostel and have really mixed feelings about it. |The location of the hostel is fine. Its close to downtown. Hostel is located in one of big apartment houses and presents itself a regular soviet 3-bedroom apartment with one bathroom for all the bedrooms and common kitchen (tea and coffee are provided).|Hostel is clean in general, however I saw a cockroach in the kitchen once..|During our stay the washing machine was not working (sign covered it offering to use washing machine next door). Fridge was also not particularly cold: milk got sour overnight. Beds are not very comfortable, unless you like hard beds. |During our stay there was a major water supply disruption in the building. Basically for around 10 hours we were completely out of water. Pretty sure it's just bad luck but still unpleasant. |Staff is ok and tries to be helpful, but not proactive. One of the ladies is a little emotional and gets defensive when something goes wrong.|Bottom line - next time will try another hostel.
Very central hostel in a classic Soviet-style apartment. Is a great place for meeting other travelers as is very homey, making you feel at home with some friends.||I stayed at the double room with my couple. From the balcony we could see the magestic snow-capped mountains.||Asel, the owner, is really nice and speaks very good English.
Such a cute clean place, its really like a home away from home. The owner couldn't be more helpful. She even personally made sure I was awake and had a taxi booked to the airport on my last day. Everything you need including a washing machine, air con/heater and no problem sleeping. It a simple chevk in and check out and I'd choose to stay there any time I was in Bishkek.
The place is clean and the atmosphere like family. Christina comes in in the morning and makes tea and coffee for everybody and just makes you feel at home.|Kudos for Christina!.|The building its an old "kruschevka" that transports you back into the Cold War. The location its centric and you have public transportation everywhere.|The view of the mountains its spectacular!. Obviously, some rooms are cooler than others, my fav is the one with Lenin's portate.
We had a really nice time at this hostel, the staff is very kind and welcoming. It's clean and homely! In addition it's straight in the centre of Bishkek, which is very good. There's a kitchen and washing machine, and the staff can answer every question and arrange for transport. Worth a visit!
