The First Place Yoga Resort, Odayam

What a special place! The location is perfect - close to a very nice beach and away from (but walkable to) the busy part. The staff are brilliant - so kind and helpful. The on-site morning yoga is excellent and sets you up for the day. The room was simple but spotless and great value (I had a non-AC budget room). This was my favourite accommodation of my whole trip!

Great location. Next to restaurants and 2 min ealk from the beach. Super quiet but 35 min walk to more busy places and other beaches. Super nice yoga with Shiva. They have two coyrses per day. Amazin staff. Excellent breakfast kerala or pancakes or omelet. Fruits every morning. They have two dogs and they take really good care of them they are family.

Really fantastic place. Really enjoyed the yoga with Shiva every morning - a very special yogi! Fantastic staff who are very friendly and always on hand to help out if you need anything. Great trips organised every few days. We went to the hill station and Munroe Island, both trips were fantastic and well worth it. Par is very friendly and does a great job organising things and being a translator for those new to India, as we were. Also great location very close to a lovely beach. Rooms are simple, clean and have everything you could need. Will definitely be back again soon. Thanks all!

We had a great time in the place...Rooms were clean and especially the beach view from the room was soo calming.....The host,Rahul is a helped us with good suggestions and plans on how to effectively use the single day we had at the place... Overall experience was soo good....

Peaceful stay and friendly staff. Near to the beach but still has privacy which is what we were looking for. One can plan a beach trek and cover the entire Varkala cliff from south to north if you start from the place. Recommended.

We had a nice stay for 4 nights. The location is 15 min walk away from the busy zone of Varkala. We really enjoyed the peaceful environment. Our room was perfect for Bird Photogrpahy with a very nice veranda and view. The room was clean and all was functional. The stuff was really friendly and the breakfast, esspiacliy the pancakes were really delicious.

Been here for two months. Our room had a great view over a valley and in the distance the beach. The room is clean and you sleep well in the beds. To the beach it is a 3 minute walk. There are a couple of restaurants nearby. You can also go by richshaw 5 minutes to the north cliff , where there are a lot of restaurants. The staff at First Place are very generous and kind. It is like you have a family. They are very helpful and can fix most things. They made our stay joyful. As breakfast you can chose between traditional Kerala or more european style. You can also have lunch if the staff have the time to make the lunch. The food is very well made and you feel like it is made with love to both the guest as well the commodities. There is also a choise to have Yoga in the morning which you can attended without having any pre-knowledge. I can highly recommend this place.
