Sopanam Beach Resort Varkala

We stayed for a night at Hosteller's.(previously sopanam) owner was very cooperative. As he owned the property recently, there was some on going repair works at ground floor. But he prepared 3 rooms on the 1st floor for us. Rooms were Ok as it looks and smells old as it was closed for long time. One of the room's flush was not worked. Informed same to owner and he agreed to rectify all the negatives at the rooms. We enjoyed on the balcony at night. It was a good stay at the resort. Only one car can park infront of the building. But we managed to park two cars by keeping the gate open. 200m walkable distance from helipad and cliff. Swiggy available. A small supermarket also available infront of the building.

I stayed in Sopanam, Varkala for couple of days. Rooms were clean and neat with much needed amenities. They do have a balcony where we can sit and relax with our friends and family. This resort is run by Mr. Unnikrishnan. He is very kind enough to provide us rooms despite weekend bookings. He also helped us in finding Two wheelers for rent when we were not able to source them due to weekend demand. The room prices are very much affordable and the resort is less than 5 mins walkable distance from Varkala Cliff. We can't even find resort for this price anywhere near to beach. We were surprised by his helping nature and his kindness where all others were looking to maximize profits whereas he was more concerned about our satisfaction. I recommend this.

Has been an exceptional experience for us. We started out with moderate expectations and we were totally blown away. The property is tropical and amazing with a beach view.Unnikrishnan was very coperative and friendly with us. Will be opting Sopanam during next visit also.. Thank you.

Not expensive..nice and tidy rooms available..they have ac and non AC.... but...no parking only 1 vehicle could be parked we were provided with that .....else need to park outside.....no solar water...or geyser... was provided with hot water...there is a kitchen to where u can cook.. location is good..few minutes walk from hotel to North cliff....owner is good guy..who guided us also...we enjoyed our stay..stayed for 2 night..no issues and not much far to visit other beaches.

Rude behaviour by the stay manager. Try to avoid staying in this place.

Sopanam is a friendly, resort with a convenient location, clean rooms and toilets and an amazing breakfast ! Walking distance to cliff, beach, shopping , restaurants and sights and old Town . Reception desk staff friendly and helpful. Owner Unni was very helpful.Will visit again Varkala .

Terrible experience in that hotel. Room is small and dark and Scary. You can find much better room in Varkala with this price. Don't go

2 minutes walk to the cliff. Everything was great, very kind, friendly and helpful owner as well as the staff! Kudos!
