Pura Vida

We recently stayed for a short family getaway. Overall, our experience was okay, but there were a few things that could have been better. The resort grounds were beautiful and well-maintained, and the kids enjoyed the pool, private beach and the cliff. The location was convenient for exploring nearby attractions and getting around was fairly easy. Our Suite Balcony Ocean View room was clean and spacious enough for our family, but it felt a bit dated and could use some upgrades, especially in the bathroom. The sea & pool view from the room was great. Service was friendly, though a bit slow at times, particularly in the restaurant. The on-site dining options were just average, and we ended up eating out more than we planned. In summary, it has potential and offers a decent stay for families, especially if you're looking for a laid-back atmosphere. However, with a few improvements in service and facilities, it could be much better.

The air conditioning was not functional, and even when set to 16 degrees, the room remained warm. The fan speed was consistent across all modes and did not vary. Regarding the complimentary breakfast, it was disappointing and nearly inedible, particularly the "kadala curry." The food prices were high, but the taste did not justify the cost. On a positive note, the hotel's atmosphere and ambiance were excellent, offering a photogenic setting with breathtaking views from the resort.

Bad experience considering the service and overall functioning of the resort. Rate was also extremely high on weekend. Good thing about the stay was awesome sea view and easy access to the beach, also good pool. For 70% of resorts in Varkala I am seeing the same sort of reviews. I feel may be they are interested in Foreign guests only.

I recently stayed in this wonderful resort with my friends, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. The resort is impeccably well-maintained, and the level of cleanliness is top-notch. You can really tell that hygiene is a priority here, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The beach view is absolutely breathtaking, with stunning vistas that make you feel completely relaxed and connected to nature. The food was also a highlight of my stay. The quality of food I had here, with fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. Each meal was a treat, and the service was equally impressive. Overall, I had a fantastic experience, and I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable.

Loved the place! Swimming pool was great. The kitchen needs improvement. They took our feedback and from the next day itself we saw great improvement in the kitchen services. Had a lovely stay there. The property has beach access however the stairs are very steep. Overall we had a great time here.

We had a wonderful experience at this property, which we thoroughly enjoyed as a group of ten. The atmosphere was delightful, and the breakfast was excellent. We highly recommend it, as the value is exceptional, especially considering the stunning views.

If you want to visit this place with your loved ones, it's the best decision. Going during the monsoon season is pure bliss, as nature provides more comfort than anything else. It's a must-visit destination

Varkala, often referred to as "Mini Goa," is renowned for its scenic beauty, and our New Year's stay at Pura Vida added to its charm. While booking, we were skeptical since online photos often don't reflect reality. However, this resort exceeded our expectations. The property is stunning--perched on the cliff with a swimming pool facing the ocean, offering a serene and picturesque vibe. The rooms were well-maintained, clean, and comfortable, with neat and functional washrooms. The staff was courteous and made the stay more enjoyable. Highlights: * The cliffside location with direct access to the beach via stairs was a delightful adventure. * The beach was pristine and perfect for unwinding. * The overall ambiance of the resort was relaxing and well-kept. The food quality was average and could be improved, as delays in service--likely due to a manpower shortage--impacted the dining experience. For a short getaway, Pura Vida is a great choice. Its breathtaking views and comfortable setup make it worth a visit. With a little more focus on food and service, it could become an exceptional destination. Highly recommended! Cheers
