Kerala Bamboo House

First of all their services are good. The hotel is near the sea beach and Anil is the hotel manager and he is a very good guy. Actually we were in a problem that time Anil and sunny helped us a lot. The environment is quite good. Rooms are specious as 2-3 people can sleep. The overall experience was good. I would like to recommend it to everyone who wants to stay near the Varkala cliff, this is the perfect place for u guys.

A decent stay for the price. We arrived on a weekday without a reservation and found this place for 2,300 per night (AC). The ambience is lively, attracting a younger crowd, with trippy wall paintings and ambient music adding to the vibe. The location is great, with easy access to the cliff and multiple restaurants within 50 meters. However, the rooms left much to be desired. Ours was relatively spacious for a bamboo-style stay but was dark, had no windows, and felt damp. The bathrooms, rooms, and lighting were extremely basic, showing clear signs of age and lacking proper cleaning. The place had an overall worn-down feel. There was noise from fellow visitors until midnight, though it didn't disturb us too much. If you're here mainly for the location and don't mind compromising on comfort, it's an okay option. But for a more relaxing stay, better-maintained alternatives are worth considering.

We stayed at Kerala Bamboo House, North Cliff, Varkala, in their AC and non-AC huts. The stays were affordable, and the cliffside location with a walkable distance to the beach was a major attraction. There's even a pathway within the property to the beach. The swimming pool is an added bonus, available for 100/hour/person. However, the bathrooms need improvement - some walls were damaged, and the old pipes didn't look great. Overall, a decent stay with some room for renovation!

We stayed here randomly after inquiring at a few places, as this was the only property with room availability for the night. The room was decent, with good WiFi and air conditioning. One of the best aspects was its location--right next to the cliff--making it convenient for morning and evening activities. They also had space for parking, which was a great plus. It's a simple, budget-friendly stay that offers good value for the price.

The location near the cliff is definitely the highlight, as it provides easy access to the cliff and beach on foot directly from the property. However, the stay was decent overall. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, but quite small. The parking space is limited, and ordering food through room service was a bit challenging, as I had to repeatedly contact reception to get anything.

The rooms are very shabby and not maintained properly. Also, as the roof is of tin, the non-AC rooms get very hot at day time. Location-wise it is very good, located just on the cliff. But not worth the money they are charging, considering the condition of rooms. Also, they don't provide toiletries and proper towel.

Location: Great. Easy access to the cliff market & beach. Staff behaviour: Was decent Ambience: Lots of plants & garden. Good. Room: We stayed in Jr. Suite and have to tell room require lot of maintenance. Cupboard knob was broken (they changed immediately though), cupboard door was not closing (loose clips) , small ants in entire room, bathroom shower did not work properly, water leakage in bathroom, not enough lights provided in the room, no night lamp, beds were not at all cozy, mattress provided on the bed was so hard & bedsheet was probably not washed for ages. It is good stay if you are coming with friends but definitely not recommended if you are travelling with family or small kids. (if you are a comfort freak)

A decent hotel with nice ambiance and moderate rooms. Advantage : Friendly manager and staff. Clean bathroom. Restroom and clock-room provided even after check out. Proximity to North cliff. Disadvantage : Overpriced (We paid 4500 for one night during Christmas) No complimentary breakfast provided despite charging heavy price. No TV in one of our rooms.
