Maadathil Cottages

An amazing hotel for a peaceful and private getaway. The hotel manager and staff are incredibly kind and attentive -- they genuinely care and go out of their way to help with any issues. Special mention goes to the on-site restaurant: delicious food and wonderful service. A true paradise right on the shore of the Indian Ocean! Just a few steps from your cottage through a well-kept garden with a green lawn -- and you're on the beach! And by the way, the beach is the best in all of Varkala: quiet, clean sand, and a gentle entrance into the sea. Highly recommend this place!

The location is a bit off beat but the view is totally worth it. The management of the cottages is really great and the staff is polite and really helpful. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The cottage is placed in a serene location and provides a lot of peace. The cliff and black beach are easily accessible and are at walkable distance. The in house reataurant serves great food. Overall a great great experience

Rooms r neat. Good location. Good service. Breakfast can be improved. No south indian food. Bread items, egg, fruit salad and fruits was only available. Food cleanliness should also be improved. Otherwise good stay

Everything about the place was perfect.. The location with access to a beautiful beach, Good breakfast and laid-back vibes. The cottage was well maintained, clean and spacious. The way to the property location may seem confusing, but it's totally worth it.

Very peaceful location, caring staff, with clean, character-filled rooms and generous balconies. Breakfasts are bespoke, including very generous fruit and curd bowls, which were great for us, now on our 5th week of travelling in India as a family with our daughters aged 18 and 21. Loved it! Thank you to the staff for all your care and attention, especially for retrieving my sandal from the cheeky dogs!

Such amazing people running such an amazing place. These are the kind of places where you feel welcomed with a family-like environment. Great food in the premises. I can't write enough about all the things that were great.

We did not stay at the cottages, but had breakfast and dinner there many times. It was the most delicious food and the people working there were extremely friendly and professional. Especially Ajin was great with our kids and always helpful. Their butter chicken was delicious, the fruit salads generous and yummy, and it's great they're trying to reduce plastic waste by using filtered water.
