Stayed there with friends and family for a few days.A truly rejuvenating experience.If you want to switch off from your hectic life and yearn for some quiet,peace,relaxation with good food in a tranquil picturesque environment,this is the place for you.The beach is a stone's throw away-clean,uncongested and seemingly unending.The owner and the staff(a delightful couple) go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one.The rooms are unremarkable,clean though and thankfully devoid of a TV.AC rooms are available.Wifi too they say(didn't opt for it...phone network range was adequate).Bathrooms were neat.Clean purified drinking water available.Food was delightful, though a bit repetitive.If you are into fish, expect a culinary delight. Negatives to be mentioned are the accessibility - car parking is quite far away in a deserted place and you have to walk around half a kilometre to reach the resort(not for the elderly or handicapped).Another negative is the security - no compound walls( the owner kept reassuring us that there was nothing to worry as it was a very safe neighborhood).Also it would be good if some sports activities,both indoor and outdoor were provided for.We,though,enjoyed playing some beach football and cricket(we had brought the kits along with us).A few hammocks are there for relaxation.Overall we had a great time there ,and hope to return there again when this fast paced life becomes overbearing!! Already missing the long walks along the beach.

Review: Thottada Beach House We booked Thottada Beach House from the USA for our vacation in Kerala. While the property is not beachfront, it is within walking distance of a beautiful, clean, and mostly empty beach, which was the highlight of our stay. Booking and Communication: The pre-booking experience was disappointing. Despite multiple follow-ups, we didn't receive clear answers to our queries, we even were kept on hold with out even saying including the availability of a BBQ, which remained unanswered even before our arrival. Later we came to know that bbq wasn't available even though they compensate d with other appetizers.This lack of communication was surprising and frustrating, especially for an international booking. Given the limited options for beach resorts in Kannur and the positive reviews, we decided to proceed with the booking. Pricing and Arrival: We paid a total of 28,000 for two nights, which included breakfast and dinner. This price covered one room for two people and a separate room for our kids (ages 10 and 13). Upon arrival, we faced challenges locating the property as there were no proper directions or signboards along the way. Despite using Google Maps, we eventually had to call the staff for guidance. The Stay: The caretakers were exceptional and made our stay memorable. They were incredibly hospitable, and the food they served was delicious and plentiful. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, including the bathrooms. The Beach: The nearby beach was stunning--clean, peaceful, and largely empty. We spent most of our mornings and evenings there, enjoying its serene beauty. Suggestions for Improvement: While we appreciated the Wi-Fi and the comfort of the rooms, the property lacked additional amenities. A TV, music system, or even board games would have been welcome, as the beach is too hot to enjoy during the day. Clearer communication during the booking process and better signage to the property would also significantly enhance the guest experience. Overall Experience: Despite the communication issues and lack of amenities, our stay was enjoyable due to the exceptional caretakers, delicious food, and the beautiful beach. With more transparent pre-booking communication and additional amenities, Thottada Beach House could provide a much more satisfying experience. Rating: 4/5

An excellent place for a family stay and relaxation! The atmosphere is incredibly cool and calm, perfect for unwinding. The food is simply beyond words - absolutely delicious, and the service is top-notch. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with great food and hospitality!

No accessible Road,Unsafe /No Parking -6K is Overpriced for a basic BED & BREAKFAST INN .This is NOT a RESORT or 3 STAR HOTEL ! Location-Accessibility: There is no road to this property.A very narrow winding steep road(For an SUV you will have to fold your mirrors)as the Google map takes you.Location will fail Google maps as well inbetween. People in the vicinity are not aware of "Thottada Beach House" if you are seeking guidance .You have to stop abruptly at a point as there is no road further.a point amidst few coconut trees and bushes ,basically an unmaintained place. We got down and started walking searching for the guest house by then Ranjith appeared from between the bushes. The room is about 500 meters from here which is not even visible. Parking is terrible- We had to leave our vehicle in an open and unkempt swampy area squeezing it between the coconut trees in someone else's place. There is no enough space.When we went there was a local auto guy who just din't want to move his auto and we had to struggle to fit our vehicle in the available space. There is movement of vehicles of locals who reside inbetween this. You won't even know if someone has brushed against as the space is very cramped up or caused any other damage (tree fronds/coconut fall) as the vehicle is not in the vicinity . Only positives -Assistants who work are polite .Owner Ranjith is polite too.Had his own reasons on not having road and parking which din't make any sense to me. Why did I go ?Went by online pics and positive reviews. Would not risk visiting again. Overall pricing should not be more than - INR 2300 including food (dinner, breakfast)per night . We had elderly parents who had to face the inconvenience specially the walk from parking spot to the room. I feel repeat visitors are those who haven't experienced better . Or probably bunch of guys who want to just get drunk and care about nothing.Make sure you are high before reaching the place, to ignore these inconveniences! LoL If you feel this review is misleading,inaccurate go ahead and get a first hand experience. Message to the owner- Accessible road,Safe parking are the basics to be taken care when hosting guests in a guest house. please provide accurate description of the property. May be change it to rustic Bed & Breakfast Inn or guest house which will suit the current setting .

Great location for one day stay and one of the best homestay in Thotada .Walkable distance to the beach and no crowd.Rooms are good and comfortable.Breakfast is Kerala style with fruit juice and dinner is served with variety of fishes prepared in Kerala style .

We had a lovely stay at this beach house During our recent stay and was pleasantly surprised by the combination of great food and a stunning beach. This hidden gem provided a serene and secluded environment, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The isolated unspoiled sandy shores and crystal-clear waters is a postcard-worthy setting. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional food. The masterful chefs at the beach house prepared mouth-watering dishes, From fresh seafood caught locally to flavorful and well-executed traditional Malayalam meals. The crab sukha was . While the isolation of the beach house may not appeal to some but it is an ideal destination for those looking for tranquility and natural beauty. The combination of great food and a stunning beach made my stay truly memorable. A fantastic spot! This resort has its own private access to Ezhara beach - a quiet and stunning stretch of coastline that's about 5 kms long. I've been making this my go-to spot for December vacations for the past four years.||The seafood here is really good, with a great variety and hearty portions. Mr. Ranjith and his crew are super friendly and always ready to help out.||If you're after a chill beachside vacation with good food and a laid-back vibe, this place is a must-visit. It's become my reliable escape for a peaceful getaway by the sea.
