Our stay at Blue Mermaid Homestay at Thottada Beach, Kannur, was unforgettable. Hosts Indu and Pradeep welcomed us with warm hospitality, making us feel at home from the start. Their thoughtful care and enthusiasm for sharing their charming property were evident throughout our visit.||The property itself is a tranquil paradise. With private access to the pristine Thottada Beach, you can enjoy soft sands, gentle waves, and breathtaking sunsets in peaceful solitude. The beach is one of the most beautiful we've ever visited--clean, quiet, and perfect for unwinding. ||The rooms at Blue Mermaid are tastefully designed, cozy, and equipped with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. Falling asleep to the soothing sound of waves and waking up to a fresh sea breeze was one of the highlights of our visit. The cozy, well-equipped rooms and the delicious meals added to the experience, making it truly special.||Hosts, Indu and Pradeep's local insights enriched our trip, guiding us to hidden gems and must-visit spots in Kannur. Their dedication to creating a memorable stay is unmatched. Blue Mermaid is a tranquil escape we highly recommend and can't wait to revisit!

I first came to visit the Blue Mermaid in 2016 and again in 2023. I then decided to organise a yoga retreat here and bring 12 students from the UK, Germany and Scotland to spend a week here. I would not have done this had the place been 5 star perfect. Indu and Pradeep and her staff make you feel part of their family and go to all lengths to make your stay a special, memorable and perfect one. They run the home stay with care and love and go out of their way to organise everything for you including transport, trips, Ayurveda treatments and so much more. Indu cooks delicious, healthy, fresh food everyday (vegetarian and fish) and I never ate the same meal twice in the two weeks I was there ( please Indu write a cookery book!) |I cannot praise this place more whether you are travelling on your own, with friends, family or a group. |The beach is right in front of the property and often empty. You can totally relax here and feel safe and looked after. Thank you!! I will be back.

Excellent location next to beautiful Thekkady beach with stunning garden and kind and helpful staff. Welcomed us at 7am without a reservation which we were grateful for. However, marked down due to value for money - not for budget travellers. There are cheaper places nearby that are just a nice. The meals were fine but not exceptional or very big e.g. breakfast was a small omlette and two pieces of toast without butter. (However they made breakfast at short notice so maybe it would have been different the next day...) Room is nice with space for belongings and books from previous travellers. Shower has poor water flow. Overall 3/5.

We loved everything about this place! The people (both hosts and staff) were warm and welcoming and guided us to the best theyyam we could ever wish for. The food was homemade, fresh and very tasteful. The location and room next to the beach, very tranquil and overlooking a nice garden. Thank you very much!

Wonderful authentic little resort right by a calm empty beach, and feeling like its in the middle of the jungle. The owners are a lovely couple that make you feel really welcome and secure, and go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and give the most fantastic tips. It feels like youre enveloped by the culture and the region, and the food they serve every day is absolutely delicious. Indu you should write a cook book! Thank you so much for the lovely stay!

Magic place. Hindu and Pradeep are very kind, welcoming and helpful! The whole entourage is great. I came here for a dhrupad study retreat and I felt at home. The food is delicious and the nature lush. Looking forward to come back!
