Kannur Beach House

This is a beautiful serene place, a tropical paradise with beautiful views and warm hosts. I've stayed here many times and I am not the only one who returns again and again. Special things are the food which is exceptional, varied and healthy, watching the sun set into the sea, swimming early morning, watching birds and butterflies, feeling welcomed and well looked after, having time to be alone and mealtimes with other guests and travelers who become friends. Great recommendations for so many things to do locally. If you come here once, you will not forget it and will want to come back!

That was my third stay at this exquisite spot. Haven't been here for some years and with meanwhile an airport nearby I had feared to face more tourism. It was wonderful to see that there is still space, tranquillity and as the years before very engaged warm hosts. Rosie and Nazir are gems and they have created a very indivualistic beautiful spot with atmosphere. The rooms are very clean and in order, the team supportive and discrete. Always helpful. For the first time I brought a group and our hosts have been very helpful in giving us tips, organizing us the transports and all needed to make our stay easy and enjoyable. |I especially liked the way they support local people be it craftsmen, Ayurvedic therapist just some meters away or others . They are great networkers and engaged in the local community in supporting others. |The food is the best! Amazing variety every day, superdelicious and fresh. |And spending time in the hammock under palm trees with the breathtaking view on lagoon and ocean creates unforgettable memories. |What our group valued very much was the new Yoga platform in the garden and a new hall with cooling effect where we could meet for Yoga and dance when it would be too hot outside. |As I said before and say again: I will be back!

This place is a secluded, peaceful haven set amongst the palm trees and sounds of nature! The beautiful Thottada beach is right in front of the guest house and is practically empty so feels like your own personal slice of heaven. Swimming at sunrise was a highlight and sunset brings locals and visitors together to admire its serenity. The guest house itself is charming with comfortable rooms (I love the bedding, supplied from a local handloom business) and balconies facing the sea. The food here is a feast, served together at breakfast and dinner, mostly local recipes and all fresh and delicious. Taking the kayak out was fab! As a solo female traveller I felt totally safe and really enjoyed the communal feel at mealtimes and being able to meet and talk to other guests. But what really makes this place are the wonderful hosts Rosi & Nazir who are so kind and friendly and a wonderful calming presence. Nothing was too much and they arranged for me to attend a theyyam which was such an experience! My parents have stayed here many times and I'm so glad I finally got to experience it for myself. I highly recommend!

My wife and I have stayed at Kannur Beach House many times over the last decade, which is obviously a recommendation in itself. The stars of the show are the hosts - Rosi and Nazir - who make the stay smooth and insightful. They'll help organise trips and basically tell you anything you need to know. The rooms themselves are basic, but comfortable, offering a relaxing view of the lagoon and the sea. All in all, staying here is a unique experience in a unique place.

This is an absolutely superb place to stay. Rosi takes care of her guests as if they were well-loved family members. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The meals are home made and delicious. One tip, don't bother with lunch as it will only spoil your dinner which would be a great shame. You can book your stay here without the slightest worry. We had a wonderful time here and can recommend it without hesitation.

Heaven,the abode of God's and angels. And at Kannur Beach house I found both. Rosie, the matriarch, quietly, but with great humour and genuine warmth, lights up heaven. Nazir, the god of smiling and kindness, lifts the spirit every time you see him.|And while the pair alone are enough to make any trip memorable, the venue sits in Kerala's most exotic, unspoilt location. There is no other place where the beach is so inviting,clean and welcoming. Communal eating and the exchange of ideas and travel adventures takes place around a table adorned with the best cooked food ever tasted in India. Keralan cuisine delivered by an invisible neighbour that packs variety into every day for both breakfast and dinner. While I may have been delegated to write this review I know ( sorry Rosie)! that I echo the thoughts of my wife,Linda. I probably will never deserve heaven but I came close to a taste of it here at Kannur Beach house.

We enjoyed our stay in this homestay very much.|First of all, the owner, Shaa, was super helpful and warm. He organized us a taxi from the airport at night, Theyam ritual watching, wonderful breakfast-lunch-dinner, etc. Our room had a terrace to the little river and a wetland, so it's a perfect place for birdwatching just from your doorstep. Also you can see stunning sunrises from this terrace. Room was clean and with a working AC. Around 300 meters away there is a peaceful Thottada beach, perfrect for swimming and sunsets. Also the local people there are very welcoming. We haven't witnessed any tourist scams whatsoever. Local supermarkets can be reached by foot in 10 minutes or 4minutes by rickshaw. Kannur west beach house is a small and honest family business and we wish them all the best.

Beautiful setting, unspoiled beach, lagoon with lots of birds. The accommodations are simple but just fine. Rosi and Nazir are warm, friendly, helpful hosts, and food is wonderful Malabar cuisine with lots of choice. I dream about this place between visits!
