Lake Villa Resort Poovar

The place is situated in a very good place, you could see the beach from there.However, they do not know even the basics of Hospitality.They could not even give me even one dry towel for use and I had to use our towel brought for use in my vehicle.Started with a very delayed pick up of more than 45 minutes though we had told a person linked to their resort Satheesan 4 times from the morning as to when we would arrive. Look for better resorts if you are ready to spend money.

The location and view is the best. Rooms as informed by the management is about to undergo maintenance. Had to face certain leakage issues and water supply issues. Management has a friendly approach to clients. They have an open party/buffet hall. It has view towards the Pozhi (estuary). Even you can see the elephant rock from here. Food is average, seafood is on the costly side.

After youtube vlogs reviews went with family of 22 memebers for day package. Charged us 1200 Rs per head. It is difficult to collect all families in a particular day for get together. But this property ruined our day. Horrible food and poor service. Waste of time and money.

Did not fully enjoy the stay at this resort. (Partly due to weather circumstances). We were there around vishu time . Writing pros and cons below. Pros: nice location in kind of an island. Povaar beach is great and just a short boat ride away from the resort. Cons: weather is a major factor. For whatever reason , water had entered into the premises of the resort making most facilities unusable. (No kayaking or other rec activities possible). I would give a 1 star rating for cleanliness. They use the same water from the lake in bathroom and other areas and it was so murky / dirty ( yellow color) . Same color as lake water. Staff are friendly but not very attentive. The tv in our room was not working, so it was really boring for us. Rooms are comfy for two adults . As we were 3 people the extra bed offered had to be put on the floor and I paid 1000 Rs for that. Food is average. Summary : I am not a resort vacationing type person . So I am not sure if 5000 Rs (3 people) for this place is reasonable for one night. I was highly dis satisfied with the services and overall experience. So if anyone is hoping for a poovar vacation, be sure to check around other resorts in same area for prices , aminities etc.
