Kalindi River Resort

I visited this place in June with my crazy bunch. We had heard of Wayanad alot and a friend of friend suggested us with this resort. It took us quite long to search this place and we had to go far from the main city. First thing first, the road to this resort is amazing. Secondly a treehouse on a riverside- Whoa! I must mention the sanitary facilities in the treehouses aren't as good as expected, but the resort has some rooms as well and one can use the facilities there if not occupied. Thirdly the food- we all loved it. ! The owner was also very friendly and gave us insights about planning the rest of our travel. He offered to teach us some shooting tricks and arranged a bonfire for us at night as well. There were wooden huts, swings and a small wooden bridge on the river which adds to the resort beauty. All in all we loved it! The only thing which I would like to see improved there is the quality of washrooms for the treehouses. Everything else was perfect!

I have been the the resort for couple of times and we enjoyed. The price is so cheap and better services. Food are also so hygienic and less priced. You have options for multiple dishes, but limited. Of course you will not expect any 5 star treatment for their prices. I have witnessed some guys are demanding for alcoholic drinks, but they will not provide it. Hence you can find some bad reviews here.

Hello all,||||Who ever going through my review would really like the place. Firstly when i called Mr. Sanjay for the first time he was so helpful for me to book my trip with them. and second thing Miss Vani Bipin, she was also an amazing guide from Bangalore itself. People over there are so helpful and good that we never expected they would be so friendly. ||The resort is fully covered with the smile of nature. Chirps of birds a natural music of water flow everything just cheer you up it is such a pleasant place. To describe the place in simple words is impossible. ||And coming to the Resort its one of the best resort i can say yes going from different places to adjust for their food style its not so easy but to be honest they serve us good food only. and rooms are really good not like how other negative reviews are. If we think practically yes the seepage and ceiling on walls will happen because the place is covered with water. and the wooden cottages are so romantic they also clean the wooden cottages outside upside every now and while. They have maintained the property really well. Mr Sanjay Sir also gave me and my friends a big surprise celebrating my Birthday with colorful lights on the river bank. He arranged for camp fire he was so helpful and made our trip even more excited a big thanks to him and his wife. ||He sent his person with us the next day and we went on a long walk inside forest and that person took us to amazing water place where river is really very clean. I don't know really if i start talking about that place and people over there i can make a book. All in all it was the most good days of my life till date and best people i have met. a must visit place and we a group of friends are permanent to that resort.||Go hit the place soon and enjoy the nature.||LOVE KALINDI RIVER RESORT :)

Stayed here with a couple of friends after hearing about this place. Avoid this place if you guys value your sanity and dignity. From the minute we checked in, the Owner/Caretaker Sanjay or whatever he calls himself started hassling us about any alcohol we migh be carrying. Initially we thought this was because alcohol is banned in kerala, but no, its because he wanted it for himself! He's always drunk, irritating all the guests for smokes, alcohol and in general being a terrible pain in the backside. And woe betide if you have women travelling with you, not only does he behave extremely badly, a couple of times he even fell on the women in our group. He was that drunk. Horrible horrible experience. Kerala is a beautiful place and it would be a shame to have it ruined by guys like Sanjay. The good reviews you see are basically because the place looks relatively good from the outside. But anyone with an iota for basic hygiene will avoid this place like the plague. The chicken curry had a live cockroach in it! When we raised a hue and cry, he picked it out from our food, threw it out and said it must have fallen from the tree above! When we refused to give him any more alcohol, he started behaving extremely badly and even tried to snatch it. We left immediately. Wayand is a very scenic place, but avoid this resort. Dont go here even if your life depends on it

Not worth the money. Forget the cottage/tree houses- even the "villa" rooms sucks, damp, smelly. But the people (caretakers) are very lovely, food they cooked was great, 3 Star is for them, for the resort- None.

The place is a bit secluded. The owner sanjay is a great guy. They have options of tree house as well as well built rooms. The food is superb. The serene sound of the river flowing right beside you is ecstacy. From the school you need to take a right and then walk for a while reach the resort.

Very good place to stay and great hospitality.. But make sure you reach resort before it's dark since the way to resort is inside forest and its risky to drive in nights because of elephants on roads. I had a great experience visiting this place. Do visit.

Divine to stay..!!! Such as charismatic location in the lap of nature. If you really wanna a offbeat stay. Choose Kalindi..!!! I stayed there on May 22, 2015 - May 23, 2015. Hospitality is good. Food is also Superb. Local peoples are friendly. I was there on a solo trip, but enjoyed my stay well and good. Worth. Will definitely visit with family & friends again. :)
