Vismaya lake heritage

Vismaya was a wonderful discovery. Steeped in history, the peace and tranquility of the location makes it a very relaxing place to spend time. Three days was not enough and it was difficult to leave. Vinod is a knowledgable, charming and attentive host who made us very welcome. He is supported by a delightful team who took care of our needs. The varied local food was of the highest standard and beautifully presented. The attention to detail was exceptional. A birthday cake was a thoughtful touch and came as a complete surprise. The bedrooms are cool and comfortable and the open air bathrooms a joy to use. The gardens are beautifully maintained, taken care of by a dedicated team who obviously take great pride in what they do. Flowers and butterflies abound. The location is stunning, overlooking the lake where fishermen come and go. Thank you Vinod for making our visit so memorable.

Vismaya welcomes you back warmly, like an affectionate old friend. I have stayed here numerous times over the years. The two-bed villa is still impeccably maintained throughout, including ample common areas for relaxation and enjoyment. Vinod manages the property with style and dedication with an excellent team of staff. The guests' needs and comfort always paramount.||Surrounded on three sides by the magnificent lake Vembanad, Vismaya is a unique property where you can simply chill, relax and enjoy good food. Food is freshly cooked to order and is absolutely delicious. Anitha, under the guidance of Vinod, turns out plates of food of the highest quality. Fresh catch from the lake and sea, accompanied by imaginatively prepared vegetable dishes were a wholesome delight. I was treated to seafood broth one evening which left me desiring for more and other wonderful dishes I enjoyed during my stay included grilled king prawns, pan fried fish, fresh clams from the lake, Kerala fried beef and roti, and numerous vegetable thorans. Breakfast, both South Indian and Continental, was consistently excellent.||The surrounding grounds are well maintained; cleaned and swept daily with the bushes and shrubs regularly trimmed and the vegetation watered. Beautiful pool to swim in or laze around poolside, a hammock to lie in, swing to kick off your feet, jetty to gaze at the beauty of the Vembanad lake, shady trees, flowering shrubs attracting butterflies and the stillness and tranquillity enveloping your souls.||For me, the gentle singing and the chants from the temple far across the lake, wafting through the air occasionally in the evenings and early mornings, was soul stirring.||Thank you, Vinod and the whole team for the wonderful care. ||In our dreams, we have all been to Vismaya!

Beautiful, tranquil and so magical. What more can you say. A perfect place in papradise. Vinod and the amazing team of Vismaya offer a 5 star venue with understated luxury. Nothing is too much trouble. A very special venue with a menu to match, just relax in your own world and let Vismaya's magic wash over you.

This is the end of our two amazing weeks in Kerala and we thought we had had the best of the best. |BUT then we got this... it literally is a piece of heaven. |The location is amazing and is so nice and peaceful.|On top of that are the unbelievable friendly staff that is headed by Vinod. |Nothing is too much and the food is just incredible. |Every meal we had in our 4 day stay has been amazing!!|The beds have been the best aswell !!!

One of the most unique, memorable and enchanted experience we have had traveling. This property's dates 300 years back and has been nestled back here on the banks of the Vembanad lake, for you to gaze at it at sunset as it is set ablaze. Not only is this property stunning, comfortable, traditional in its Keralan architecture, the host, Mr. Vinod, offers a remarkable hospitality with his subtle presence and his fantastic cooking skills. Do try his fresh clam pasta from the clams collected a the footstep of the property and his jackfruit coconut dessert. A must stay if you're planning to go to the backwaters

We did not know what to expect as we had not done much internet research before we went. It turned out to be a fabulous two day stay. We could have happily stayed a few days more! The villa itself is stunning, charming and very well maintained; - supremely comfortable beds and wonderful open air shower! The location is superb as the villa is tucked away on the tip of a peninsula surrounded by water on three sides. Perfect hideout - away from any intrusion or disturbance.|Vinod, the manager is gracious, welcoming and attentive to every need. He personally ensured that we were comfortable and had whatever we wanted.|The food is gourmet quality; whether it is a local specialty like appams and stew or fish moilee or grilled prawns or fresh tuna salad! Our fourth visit to India, but our first to Vismaya. From the website and looking at other reviews, you know it's going to be good. But only by being here can you experience just how good it is. It's not good, it's wonderful. ||The food is delicious. The best we've had in India. |The little touches everywhere add to the experience. The serviettes are wrapped in leaves and flowers from the garden, hand picked each day. Cut flowers are placed on pool towels. The pool... A place to keep cool and watch life on the backwaters, whilst brown kites, beecatchers and hundreds of butterflies circle around. ||The staff are incredible. They have this incredible knack of being there when you need them whilst giving you space and peace and quiet to enjoy all that is Vismaya. ||Vinod, we can't thank you and the team enough.
